Ralph Francis
    Ralph McCoy Francis, 90, of Jasper, Georgia; and formerly of Marble Hill, MO; passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at the Northside Hospital in Canton, Georgia.
    He was born February 26, 1926 in Grassy, Missouri; son of William Lorance and Emma Elizabeth Patterson Francis. He and Neoma Bohnsack were united in marriage on March 15, 1946 and she passed away on December 10, 1992. He later married Nora Davis in March 1993.
    Ralph was a teacher who began his career in one-room schools, former Bollinger County Tax Collector and worked for Western Auto as a Salesmen for several years in St. Louis.  He was a member of the Church of Christ Church in Jasper, Georgia.
    Survivors include his wife, Nora; sons, Mick (Susan) Francis of Barnhart, MO; Bob Francis of Imperial, MO; daughters, Sue (Mike) McGovern of St. Charles, MO, Penny (Dave) Schirmer of Cherryville, MO, Kaye (Tim) See of Desoto, MO, Terry (Steve) Boehm of Ballwin, MO; Jerry (Carol) Davis, Jack (Helen) Davis, Mary (Rusty) King and Elizabeth Wright, all of Georgia; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
    Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers Glen, Claude, Henry, Raymond, and Gene; sisters, Oma Phillips, Ruby Reitman, Ruth Teeters Miller, Pearl Francis and daughter-n-law Linda.
    The funeral service was held Monday, July 11, 2016 at 12 p.m. with Robby Francis and Gayle Francis officiating. Burial followed in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill, MO.
Aimee Parks
    Mrs. Aimee Southerland Parks, 100, of Ellijay, died Wednesday July 20, 2016.
    Mrs. Parks was born July 8, 1916, in Pickens County, the daughter of the late Columbus Jasper and Alice Carroll Southerland. She was a homemaker and member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Her Husband, Henry J. Parks, Sr., sons, Buster and Ray Parks, sisters, Charlsie Lewis, Willie Fay Jones, Jewell Sanders, Magie Gable, Gladys Young, brothers, Grady, C.J., Preston and Homer Southerland preceded her in death.
    Survivors include, sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Linda Parks, Rev. Wallace and Carole Parks, Johnny and Debbie Parks, all of Ellijay, Jim and Susan Parks, Jasper, Billy and Jennifer Parks, Rome; daughters and sons-in-laws, Sue and Robert Walker, Peggy Mullins, all of Jasper, Brenda and Ted Pylant, Jonesboro; brother, Columbus Junior, Southerland, FL; and sister, Odeen Padgett, Canton; 25 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Burgess and Rev. Brondy Davis officiating. Music was by Ronald and Linda Hyde, Thelma Champion, Angie Ringwalt. Pallbearers were: Greg Parks, Mickey Walker, Jesse Parks, Michael Parks, Richie Parks and Barry Parks. Interment was in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church cemetery.

David Quinton
February 2, 1944 – July 18, 2016

    David “Ted” Quinton, 72, of Talking Rock, passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.  Ted was born February 2, 1944 to Truman and Ina Lou Mosley Quinton in Talking Rock.
    He is survived by wife, Nedene Quinton of Talking Rock; son, David Quinton (Misty) of Talking Rock; step-daughter, Joann Henderson of Jasper; sisters-in-law, Clara Quinton of Jasper, Dorothy Quinton of Jasper, Doris Walker of Jasper, Addline Hart of Jasper; grandchildren, Samantha Ann, Emily, Caitlyn; three step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. 
    He was preceded in death by wife, Dortha Lee Quinton; step-daughter, Debbie House; great-grandson, Grahm Michael.
    The funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Talking Rock Baptist Church with Reverend Kenneth Kirk and Reverend Rembert Hancock officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
    Arrangements were entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory.

Thelma Crockett
December 7, 1933 - July 12, 2016

    Mrs. Thelma Crockett, 82, of Woodstock, passed away Tuesday July 12, 2016 at Woodstock Nursing & Rehab.
    Mrs. Crockett is survived by her son, Michael Keith Crockett of Tenn.; daughters, Pamela Lynn Crockett of Atlanta and Patricia C. Schumann of Atlanta; brothers, Arven West of Fairmount, Max West of Jasper, Otes Daniel West of Cartersville, and David West of Douglasville; sisters, Doris West Jackson of Athens, Dale Slate of Lithia Springs, and Sarah West Mulkey of Fairmount; grandchildren, Amanda C. Crockett, Michael K. Crockett, Hannah N. Schumann, and Kiley A. Schumann, and several nieces and nephews.
    The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 14 at Philadelphia Baptist Church with Revs. Bryan Prance, Frankie Ellis, and Moss Fountain officiating. Interment at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.
    The family accepted flowers or donate to the Alzheimer's Association.

Jack Mosley
January 22, 1932 - July 19, 2016

    Mr. Jack H. Mosley, 84, of Macon, passed away Tuesday July 19, 2016 at Gilmer Nursing Home.
    Mr. Mosley is survived by his wife, Johnnie Mosley of Macon; sister, Linda Coleman of Whitestone; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
    A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23 at Whitestone Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Reece officiating. Interment at Talking Rock Cemetery.

Bertha Padgett
February 2, 1951 – July 14, 2016

    Bertha Lou Padgett, 65, of Ball Ground, passed away July 14, 2016 at her home.  She was born February 2, 1951 to Joe and Rachel McAvoy Holloway in Tate.
    She is survived by daughters, Melissa Holland (Richard) of Atlanta, Meredith Padgett of Yellow Creek; grandson, Trenton Wilson of Tate; great-grandson, Aiden Wilson; brother, Leonard Holloway of Powder Springs; sister, Martha Harvell of Athens.  Several nieces and nephews also survive. 
    Mrs. Padgett was preceded in death by grandson, Travis Wilson; brothers, Wilburn Holloway and Arnold Holloway; and sister, Clora Mae “Sis” Walker.
    A memorial service will be held July 30 at 6 p.m. at Yellow Creek Baptist Church.

Bonnie Ray
April 23, 1927 – July 25, 2016

    Bonnie Ray, 89, of Jasper, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 at home. She was born April 23, 1927 to Harley and Hattie Hamrick in Pickens County.
    4-H was a very important part of Bonnie’s life. She was involved from the time she was a child until just a few years ago. She was a District Volunteer Leader and a State Volunteer Leader for the organization. She was an active member of Hinton United Methodist Church and the Hospital Board.
    Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Ray. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Melvina and Ron Carlan of Jasper; granddaughter, Beth and Corey Watson of Talking Rock; great-grandchildren, Colin Watson of Talking Rock, Conner Watson of Talking Rock.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    The funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 27 at Hinton United Methodist Church with Reverend Jerry Gleason, Reverend Jim Schlict, Reverend Sharon Watkins, and State Representative Rick Jasperse officiating. Interment will be at Hinton Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Larry Johnson, Rusty Johnson, Brian Wallace, Chris Wallace, Bill Eubanks, Joe Thompson, Allen Wigington, and Brooks Tate.
    The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hinton United Methodist Church or Pickens County 4-H Club.

    The family of Agnes W. Jones would like to thank Preacher Randy Weaver and Preacher Autry Dean for preaching the beautiful heartfelt service. We would like to thank Jeff Bennett for singing one of Agnes’ favorite songs and thank Billy Jones and the singers from Free Hope Church Debra Watson for the beautiful songs and music. We would like to give a special thanks for our pallbearers Dorsey Jones, Joey Jones, John Jones, Billy and Bill Jones, Cody Grant, Jason and Grant Satterfield, and Cory Eubanks.
    Thank you to the staff of Roper Funeral Home for their help with the arrangements and the kindness shown to us during this heartbreaking time. Thank you to Homestead Hospice for their care and attention to Agnes’ needs. We would like to say a special Thank You to Dymple Buttrum for being such a good caregiver and taking such good care of Agnes during her time of sickness.
    We would like to thank the people that came by, sent flowers, brought food, sent cards, called, thought of us with their prayers. We will never be able to tell you how much that means to us. May god bless each and everyone that helped us during this time. We have lost a wonderful wife and best friend, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She will be missed forever.
