Mrs. Doris Carter, born Doris Elaine Smith in Toccoa, Ga on June 9, 1929. Mrs. Carter has been a resident of Jasper since 1982. She is the daughter of the Late Homer Edward Smith and Ruby Mae Shearer Smith. As a Pentecostal Minister, Doris served with her husband, Rev. Kenneth Carlton Carter, at Burnt Mountain Holy Bible Church in Jasper, Ga.
Mrs. Cater is survived by her husband, Rev. Kenneth Carter of Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Bill & Virginia Hulsey of Springfield, MA; stepson and wife, Kenneth & Chelsea Carter of Jasper; daughter & son-in-law, Elaine & Mike Evans of Bowersville; daughter, Louyse Scott of Clarksville; stepdaughter and husband, Carla & Del Banks of Jasper; sister-in-law, Myra Smith of Newnan; special niece and caregiver, Beverly Carter; grandson and wife, Trey and Jessie Hulsey of North Wales, PA; grandson, Jared Hulsey of Springfield, MA; granddaughters and husbands, Michelle & Jason Colquitt of Winterville, GA, Jessica & Jeziel Gonzalez of Wilbraham, MA and Milissa & Tom Molieri of Philadelphia, PA; great-grandsons, J.J. and William Gonzalez; great-granddaughters, Lydia Gonzalez and Olivia Molieri; several nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death her brothers, Jerry Smith and Ed Smith; sisters, Kate Fullbright and Frances Carter.
Mrs. Carter was first married to the late William Floyd Hulsey, SR.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018 in the Cagle Funeral Home Chapel. Rev Grady Walden officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting family and friends make donations to the charity of their choice in Memory of Mrs. Carter.

John Darnell III
John Sherman Darnell III, 83, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 in Ocean Springs, MS.
Mr. Darnell lived in Ocean Springs for 44 years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and retired with 23 years of service. He also retired from the electrical department of Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was a friend of Bill W.
John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Henrietta Darnell and great-granddaughter, Marley DelaCruz.
Survivors include his wife of 59 and a half years, Lucy Darnell; sons, John Robin Darnell, Barry Keith Darnell, Jamey Sean Darnell (Tina), and Todd Andrew Darnell; sisters, Rebecca Forrester (Dan) and Hettie Young (Alvin); eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The memorial service was held Thursday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home.

Oliver Lewis Fountain, 78, of Talking Rock, Georgia passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at his home. He was born February 23, 1940 to John and Mattie Grace Fountain in Tate.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Morris Fountain; daughters, Sue Mundy, Katherine Garland, Ann Fountain; son, Moss Fountain; step-son, Danny Buchanan; sisters, Ora Grace Wright, Ona Jane Tippens; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, William Fountain and wife, Martha Fountain.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 23, 2018 at Antioch Baptist Church with Reverend Grant Wade, Reverend Buck Parker, and Reverend Sanford Fountain officiating. Interment followed in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Pall bearers were Lanny Wright, Justin Fountain, Joe Fountain, Zack Garland, Tony Tippens, and Michael Tippens.
Arrangements were entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
