Dottie Lindsey

Dorothy “Dottie” Durrant Lindsey, 88, of Jasper, GA passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, David Lindsey; daughter, Connie Hernandez; son, David Lee Lindsey; great grandson Charles Douglas Sanders. 

Mrs. Lindsey is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Randall G. and Rhonda A. Lindsey, Marble Hill, GA and Ricky E. Lindsey, Jasper, GA; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Emory E. and Susan Durrant, Douglasville, GA; sister and brother-in-law, June and Tom Baugh, Springfield, OH; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

Mrs. Lindsey was born on November 25, 1929 in Richmond, OH. She resided in Gwinnett County for forty-one years before moving to Jasper, GA. Mrs. Lindsey was retired from Upton Wholesale in Suwanee, GA. She was a member of Jasper Church of God, and a former member and founder of Stone Mountain Church of God.  

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Danny May officiating. Interment followed at the Sugar Hill Cemetery in Sugar Hill, GA. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to AmityCare Hospice, 161 Village Pkwy, Bldg 7, Marietta, GA 30067 in memory of Dorothy Lindsey.

Eddie Fountain

April 17, 1957 - April 19, 2018

 

Eddie Fountain, 61, of Tate, Georgia, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at his home.  He was born April 17, 1957 in Tate to Joe and Carolyn Fountain.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Fountain of Tate; son, Daniel Fountain and Cali China of Atlanta; daughter, Christie Parker and Chris Hatfield of Jasper; mother, Carolyn Malloy of Fairmount; brother, David Fountain of Fairmount; sister, Lisa Johnson of Calhoun; grandchildren, Taylor Parker, Brant Stanfield, Weston Hatfield; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jack and Sue Pendley of Tate; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mark and Tracey Pendley of Tate; nieces, nephews, and other family members; special friends, Jim Fields, Peggy Allen, Ricky Jackson, and Judy Mosley.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Fountain.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Sunday, April 22 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Gerald Young officiating.  

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

J. M. Fields

November 23, 1936 - May 02, 2018

 

Mr. J. M. Fields, 81, of Blairsville, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at The Gardens of Magnolia in Smyrna. 

Mr. Fields is survived by his son, Cliff Fields of McDonough; daughter and son-in-law, Donna & Danny McMahon of Locust Grove; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. 

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12 at Long Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery.

Jimmy Privett

May 02, 1945 - April 20, 2018

 

Mr. Jimmy Privett, 72, of Jasper, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018 at Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain. 

Mr. Privett is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Justin & Jamie Privett of Buford and Brandon & Lisa Privett of Marietta; daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Keith Moses of Jasper; sister, Wilma Smith of Gadston, AL; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Jimmy is preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Wouree.

The family will be receiving friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12 at Cagle Funeral Home. 

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12 in the Cagle Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Orin Sampson officiating.

Alta Orr

June 27, 1938 - May 07, 2018

 

Mrs. Alta Ann Wigington Orr, 79, of Cleveland, Georgia, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018, in Gainesville, Georgia, following a brief illness. 

Mrs. Orr was born June 27, 1938, in Jasper, Georgia, to John and Kate (Trippe) Wigington. 

Ann is survived by her husband of 57 years, Samuel Lewis Orr; daughters and sons-in-law, Joni & Larry Manley of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Jill & Bobby Ross of Gainesville, Georgia; sons and daughters-in-law, Sam Jr. & Jennifer Orr of Buford, Georgia, and Stephen & Andrea Orr of Toccoa, Georgia. Grandchildren include, Matthew Townsend, Mitchell Townsend, Trippe Ross, John Ross, Jay Ross, Heidi Orr, Sam Orr III, Meredith Orr, Betsey Orr, and June Orr; Several nieces and nephews.

A family graveside service is planned at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. 

In lieu of Flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery fund.

Gladys Boldt

March 15, 1918 - April 27, 2018

 

Mrs. Gladys Boldt, 100, from Jasper passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at Grandview Health Care of Jasper.

Mrs. Boldt is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond & Kathy Russell of Moline Il. and Dennis & Penny Russell of Apex NC; daughter, Janice Ege of Jasper; 17 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. 

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 2 at The Tate United Methodist Church. 

Mrs. Boldt's cremains will be interred at Maple Hill Cemetery, Gladbrook, Iowa at a later date.
