Mark Miller pleads guilty

Jasper attorney Mark Miller pleaded guilty in Pickens Superior Court late Wednesday to multiple counts of theft and financial fraud against former clients, foregoing a trial which would have begun in August.

   The plea settlement negotiated back and forth all day Wednesday will see the well-known, outspoken attorney sentenced to 40 years, to serve 5 years. Miller, jailed since June of 2016 will be granted credit for that year. The remaining 35 years will be on probation.

   Miller will be required to make restitution of  $1.3 million to former clients who he pleaded guilty to taking funds from their accounts.

Still today you think there's a God? Miller's a criminal, plain and simple. We're a nation of laws. He broke many of them and was sentenced appropriately. Don't bible-belt us for stating our opinion or judging the loser. Let go of your antiquated religious beliefs and get on board with reality.
