Cherokee County, Ga. November 9, 2017. Cherokee Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 12:18am to a residence on Flatbottom Road south of Ball Ground in reference to an unknown trouble call. When deputies arrived on scene they located a victim who had a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was able to advise the responding deputies she had been shot by an unidentified male who then fled the residence. A Criminal Investigations Division investigator made contact with the victim at the hospital and was able to obtain more information in regards to the suspect.
The Criminal Investigations Divisions continued the investigation and was able to identify the suspect male as David Wohlgemuth 21 years of age of Acworth. Wohlgemuth was arrested Tuesday evening, November 7, 2017 and transported to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center charged with Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault x2, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Home Invasion, Burglary, Armed Robbery and Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder. Wohlgemuth is currently in the Cherokee ADC with no bond.
As the investigation continued it was determined there was a second person involved and they were identified as Dallas LeBlanc 25 years of age of Acworth. LeBlanc was arrested Thursday, November 09, 2017 and charged with Party to a Crime Armed Robbery, Party to a Crime Aggravated Assault x2, Party to a Crime Aggravated Battery, Party to a Crime Home Invasion and Tampering with Evidence. LeBlanc is currently in the Cherokee ADC with no bond.
