Disrespectful Youth group wants tax change, “but not this way”

Group encourages public to vote for “Option 1” for senior tax exemption

disrespectful youth sign

Signs in support of Option 1 -- no change in the senior tax exemption - have been popping up around town with early voting underway.

A group of Pickens County residents, now with a social media presence of over 2,200, wants to put the breaks on proposed changes to property tax exemptions for seniors, which they say are uninformed, hasty, and could endanger the public school system.

Just another democrat ploy to snatch more of our income. This entire state has habitually raised taxes numerous times for public schools, yet Georgia still ranks very low in quality education. The State of Tennessee has no state income tax, yet it ranks much higher than Georgia. VOTE "NO" on this tax.

It is NOT a tax. It is a straw poll to have the state legislation STUDY the idea. So many uneducated on the issue. Even if the state legislature passes it next year, it may not be in the amount that is sought. Also, I see so much animosity and hatred....among age groups ---why?

Well at least we can agree on one thing - it is not a tax, which was exactly my point. Maybe you're starting to come around. And don't get melodramatic - there's animosity, but not seeing any "hatred", except possibly on the seniors for charity side. And if you want an answer about why there is animosity, take a look at the words and actions of your fearless "leader" .... that hasn't helped at all. And you've been contentious as well, so if you want to know why it's gotten acrimonious, go look in the mirror.

STFU, I have been the target of hatred for being over 60. Age discrimination. I could try to be 14 and go to school and may qualify for free or reduced lunches, maybe??? I don't begrudge the families who need that, but maybe just maybe some seniors need a helping hand too. Not all, but some. What is the qualifying income for free lunches? Anyone know? Where do seniors go in the county for a helping hand? So, I expect more venom from you STFU

Daniel Bell used a false argument with his map of income across the county. It would appear then, the schoolkids don't qualify for free or reduced lunches. Also, Impactpickens website falsely uses a CPI calculator saying seniors income is adequate. All crap. Here is the link for the Federal Poverty standards for 2017 and 2018: https://www.google.com/search?q=federal+poverty+levels+2018&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b-1

I'm not sure whether to pity you or just laugh at you. Didn't you just brag on the other thread about how much money you made? What happened, you didn't save any of it? Shame on you. And stop being such a drama wueen....age discrimination? People hate you for being over 60??? That's just a silly, victim mentality... I guess that's not unique to snowflake millenials.
