Jasper attorney requests superior court judge's disqualification from over 50 cases

George Weaver accuses Judge Doss of personal bias, cites another ethics investigation

Jasper attorney George Weaver has filed motions requesting that Superior Court Judge Harry Doss recuse himself from all cases handled by Weaver in the Appalachian Judicial Circuit. The 51 motions for “Disqualification and Recusal of Judge Oliver Harris Doss, Jr. were delivered to offices of Judge Doss in Pickens County and the district attorney last week. The motions states, “further, Judge Doss has a personal bias or prejudice concerning the Defendant’s attorney of record [Weaver].” Weaver has practiced law in Jasper for 30 years and is married to Judge Brenda Weaver, one of the two other superior court judges in the circuit.
