As the general election season continues,
remember we’re not taking personal attacks on candidates
that aren’t verified (such as candidate X was drunk and
got tossed out of an Atlanta strip club last weekend). But we
will take general comments or comments on any information the
candidates have put forth themselves in printed ads or public
talks.

I want to take the time to publicly commend
Jasper for being the great place I remember. This last
weekend 27 September, I came back for my 25th reunion of the
PHS class of 83. Driving into town I noticed how great
everything looked. Everyone I met said hi and people
still waved when they passed you on the road. Jasper
definitely has grown since I moved away but the spirit is the
same. Please don't let the growth take that away.
Sincerely
Rev. Jackson V. Plant

Hitari, That was cute. Maybe if Palin would
just dwell on Obama's lifelong courtships like, a terrorist, a
racist priest,Ferrukan, or a white collar thief that ended up
in prison. Now then, wouldn't you rather see her at Epcot than
talking about those yardbirds?

Marble Festival...what a joke. I would be
ashamed to admit I had anything to do with the planning of this
festival...only word I can come up with is lame...very lame and
I'm embarrassed for our county and feel sorry for the people
who drove up this way and wasted their precious gas to attend
this festival only to be charged five dollars to park when no
other free parking was available...five dollars per person to
get in and nothing much to do once you got in other than walk
around a bunch of booths of money hungry vendors wanting more
of my money which most aren't even from around here...what a
joke!

It's going to take a woman to clean out the
mess that all the men left in the White House! I believe that
McCain and Palin make a great pair. She does need some more
smoothing around the edges, but she is getting there one step
at a time. I have faith in her and even more faith in John
McCain! He survived Vietnam, he can survive this election!

I have lived in the Pickens area for over
10 years and never had any problems until I met some new
residents of Pickens. Boy, are they winners. They moved in from
Clayton County and they think they rule the roost!. I am not
saying that I rule anything, and I know I don't, but it is the
way that these people lie about everything they do or don't do
and how they stretch the lies out to get other people in
trouble to the point of putting people in jail! Why do people
do this? Is this a sign of what Pickens is all about or is this
something that just managed to creep up from Clayton? I never
had any other problems with anyone else in my 10 years of
residence in Dawson/Pickens county. I love living in the
mountains.
I appreciate most of the people of Pickens
County. You are very nice people who work very hard for what
you have and enjoy life to the fullest! Your children are
pleasent to be around and are well educated. It was just these
two people that happened to get stuck in my craw and whom we
tried to help over the past couple of months without a thank
you. I will now turn the other cheek and close the door to my
home and enjoy the rest of the evening. I will say thank you to
the rest of Pickens County who appreciate his or her fellow man
and help them out.

Come on now, you couldn't have seen the
same debate I did. Palin, although doing better than expected,
still left a lot to be desired. To me she spent more time
trying to save face and to trumpet McCain as a
"maverick" than to help much. McCain as Biden put it
is no "maverick" where it counts. Four more years of
Bush is all we have got to look forward to with McCain. Do you
really have such a jones for war that you would put Palin in
the jump seat? On the other hand, I believe we should pull out
about as much as the prom king does.Any premature pull out
would create such a power vacuum that we would be in danger of
the Middle East imploding further. We are there for the
duration. I do believe they should be paying their own way. I
mean they are an oil producing country. McCain is not the
choice, Obama has a lot of catching up to do, and the American
public is going to have to demand better leaders. It says a lot
for the job when only people with marginal qualifications
apply. So think real hard while your in that booth. Hell write
in Jones/Weaver. At least Jasper would be taken care of.

I would like to know how gay and lesbians
can have equal rights, when it seems our lo country selves can
not even assiamilate to pay women the same amount as men in
industry? Yes it is true, it seems to me that women are
expected to work and bring home some sort of bacon, just not
the kind the good old men get too? How can we call it equal
rights, civil rights, rights at all? Women are still being
discrimnated against, weather you like it or not! It is the
truth.

ORLANDO, FL—Republican vice
presidential nominee Sarah Palin sought to silence those who
have criticized her lack of foreign affairs experience Tuesday
by announcing plans for a weeklong, 10-nation tour of Walt
Disney World's Epcot. According to Palin, the trip—her
first past Frontierland—will include speaking engagements
at Norway's famous Viking ride, sausages at Germany's Kaufhaus,
and, time permitting, a fact-finding mission to Future World.
"This ambitious trip should finally demonstrate that I am
ready to assume the vice presidency, whether by standing in
long lines at Morocco's Tangierine Café or by sitting
down face-to-face with Mexico's Three Caballeros," Palin
announced during a campaign stop outside a Chinese restaurant
in Tulsa, OK. "All of our neighbors deserve good
diplomacy, from the Universe of Energy down to the French
pavilion." Palin also promised a visit to the American
Adventure exhibit before returning home, adding that she hoped
to learn more about her own nation and the diverse peoples
within.
Seriously though -- Deer in headlight at
debate, but with a nice haircut.

I don't care if people are gay all day, I
do however strongly object to it becoming a legal union.
If someone has an abortion that is a
decision they make, but I will never vote for anyone who
condones it.
There are some great points democratic
folks make and I do believe some of the change they would bring
is good.
Abortion was not a good change, gay
marriage will not be a good change. With those two issues at
the heart of their platform as a person who values family and
life, its McCain for me.
This election is more about who the next
supreme court justices will be than anything else. The
direction our country will take either liberal or conservative
will hinge on those selections.
Don't put someone in the white house who
will send us even farther into the "do as you will"
mentality. We should do what is right even if it is not popular

Pinto, I am all for civil rights and equal
opportunity employment for all.God made us all equal!!! I know
there are still some that think women should stay at home
"barefoot and pregnant" and take care of the
house, children and husband, those people need to get a
life.Blacks and others deserve the same rights as
"whites" as long as they work as hard as everyone
else, I do know some "whites" I wouldn't want to work
with cause they are LAZY and don't deserve the rights they were
born with. BUT, What I don't agree with is another religous sec

telling us what religion we can practice, how to dress and how
to live. I believe from what I have heard and read that if
Obama gets in office that the Musslims will take over slowly.

you're on the right track, 'not for obama'
but it goes even deeper than that. look at how the blacks in
the 1960s convinced a a group of white people that they
deserved "civil rights" and they got them. Then we
had all this "equal opportunity emplyment" BS where
not evn the private businesses could discriminate against
someone based on the threat of their religion or color. it's
all just a part of the muslims' long term effort to take over
America. but don't overlook other groups - like the women --
with the same agendas. the founders didn't intend for the women
to vote in this country. but in their effort to take over the
country they convinced some radical politicians to give them
right to vote a long time ago, and now they even have equal
employment. this was all accomplished in the same calculating
way your post described obama's rise to power.

Asked about the criticism, including from
some conservatives, about her readiness for high office, Palin
said: "Not only am I ready but willing and able to serve
as vice president with Sen. McCain if Americans so bless us and
privilege us with the opportunity of serving them," she
said, "Ready with my executive experience as a city mayor
and manager, as a governor, as a commissioner, a regulator of
oil and gas."
By regulator of oil and gas she means
filling up the SUV to go moose hunting, cooking a mean pot of
chili, and limiting her intake of olive oil.

Here are somethings about Obama that
everyone should know before they go vote. It's long but
interesting [Editor’s Note: If
possible for long stuff like this, paste in a link if it can be
found somewhere else on the internet. I’m afraid if too
many people want to paste in long articles, then the page will
get flooded. Other thoughts from users?]
Thoughts of an 83 year old man about the
destruction of the United States of America.
PLEASE READ EVERY WORD --
We have been told by the leaders of Islam,
(the likes of Louis Farrakhan,) the United States will collapse
from inside itself. We also know the terrorists plan years and
years ahead on what they will do to complete one of their acts
of terror. The destruction of the World Trade Center Twin Towers
was the culmination of plans made after the first attempt at
destruction failed. This plan involved the training of pilots to
fly the airplanes into the towers, the Pentagon and possibly
the White House. Coordination between the terrorists had to be
planned far in advance and it appears to me there were probably
rehearsals and refining of the overall plan. The plan took
years to bring it to fruition. It didn't happen overnight; it
didn't become the plan over a cup of coffee at Starbucks. How
better to bring about the collapse of the United States
from within than to bring about the destruction from the
top down. Remember the terrorists are patient, methodical and
determined to do it right the first time. Now let's
examine this scenario. We know about the uproar over Mitt
Romney's religious affiliation with electing a Mormon to the
Presidency.
Knowing this, can you even imagine what an
uproar would come about if a candidate was affricated with the
Muslim faith? In the 83 years of my lifetime there has been no
President of the United States, to my knowledge, been elected
that didn't claim to be a Christian. If I am wrong,
please correct me. The question now arises, how does Islam get
one of their own elected. Answer: pass him off as a Christian.
How do they do that? Answer: plan years ahead and carefully
choose the right person for the job. Choose
someone who is born on American soil, because that is a
requirement for qualifying for the office. Send that someone to
the best schools available even though his parents divorce when
he is a toddler and neither has the money to send him to the
highly expensive schools he attends beyond the Catholic school
he attends after he has been chosen
and the refining begins. (Note it must be a
male because women are not allowed to rule in Islam). Although
his father is a Muslim, his mother an atheist and his
step-father also a Muslim, he is sent to a Catholic school
after being removed from a Muslim school. Why would either of
his parents choose Catholicism over Muslim or Atheism for his
education?
Remember, there has never been a
President of the United States of America that was not at least
claiming to be a Christian. After the candidate for the job of
saboteur has been chosen and the refinement process has begun
the polishing must begin also. He must be sent to an
outstanding university and obtain coveted degrees and honors.
As with all politicians he must begin his career in politics at
the bottom and work his way up by using his charisma and good
looks that rock stars possess. He must run his campaign for the
nomination of his party for President by attracting some
special interest groups like ethnic, gender and age groups.
This process of selecting someone to fill all these
qualifications will take more than a decade, it will require a
generation, but remember, Islam is patient. Do we know anyone
who fits this mold? Yes, I think we do. We know someone running
for the nomination of his party for President of the United
States of America who was born on American soil.He was born in
Hawaii on August 4, 1961 after the possession became a state on
August 21, 1959. He attended public schools in Jakarta ,
Indonesia where his step father returned after marrying
Barack's mother. At age 10 Barack entered Punahou School, a
private school, in Hawaii until graduation from High School. He
then moved to Los
Angeles where he attended Occidental
College. He entered Columbia University in 1983 and Harvard Law
School in 1991. Somehow along the way he joined the Trinity
United Church of Christ in 1988 and thus became a 'Christian.'
(It is interesting to note that he was at either Columbia
University or Harvard Law School, far removed from the Trinity
United Church of Christ in Chicago, when he became a member).
He later moved to Chicago where he ran for, and was elected, to
the Illinois State Senate in 1996. After serving 8 years
in the Illinois Senate he ran for, and won, the seat of Junior
U. S. Senator from Illinois in 2004. He has spent the better
part of t he last two years not being
present to vote or just voting 'present' on
most legislative issues. He has associated himself with people
of questionable loyalty to the United States of America for the
last 20 years and has refused to disown
any of them although he has tried to
disassociate himself from some of the things they have said and
some of the things they have done while maintaining his
relationship with them. Who is this young man whom I believe
has been selected, groomed, polished and refined by the patient
Islamic extremists to accomplish the mission of
destroying the United States of America from within? Who is
this young man who gained all of this higher education
and accomplished all that he has claimed while the son of
a single parent,grandson of a middle-class couple and
step-son of a Muslim in Kenya, Africa? I believe Barack Hussein
Obama, candidate for the Democratic Party nomination as
President of the United States of America, fits the mold
exactly.

Oh my , where to start answering such
drivel ! Can you show me where I said I was a better friend to
Donnie than others ? BTW-I printed out the pages from this blog
back to 8-4-08 to make sure just what I have said in the past .
The one thing you said that I agree with is " Donnie would
do well to stay away from those who simply claim to be his best
friend to impress people " You got that right !!! Name
dropping , lets see , you talk about knowing
Billy,Allen,Sherman, and Dan , interesting thats its ok for you
but not me , but thats par for the course . Can you show me
where I said I was a deputy who retired and can you explain
what any of this has to do with what I was talking about ?
Didn't think so ! What do you do for a living ? Since you seem
to have gone through the background of my file , you really
need to read deeper . Just a Jailor ? You don't have a clue how
much training I have and it sounds like you don't have much
respect for those of us in law enforcement who don't work the
road . Since this is a somewhat family blog , I won't tell you
what I equate you to . As a point of reference about my 60's
& 70's quote and to help educate you , I began my academy
training in 1987 which at that time was 320hours with another
80hours of law at Hermando college . The extra law courses were
required because we had arrest powers in the jail . I was a
CPL.FTO ( field training officer ) which meant I worked a third
of the time in the jail , a third of the time providing court
security for various judges and the rest on transport . I
carried a gun when not in the jail and had to quaify on a
combat range twice a year , not a regular range like they have
here and here , they only have to qualify once a year . We had
to quailfy with two weapons , a 12 guage shotgun and a 38
special . Fast forward 15years . Pickens academy ? 80 hours !
Some people at the sheriff's office have the same backward
mentality as you do , people that work in the jail are not real
deputys , they are just jailors . Thats why they can't keep
deten
tion officers long term , low pay for
risking their lives ( have you checked how many
detention/corrections/jailors are killed and injured each year
? ) no promotions to speak of if you are not mandated , and
very little respect from the general public . I have no clue
what you mean by " case status report " . On high
profile cases , the PIO ( Allen , usually ) will update the
progress about any arrests regarding this or that case , but
the DA is the only one that knows the real status of each
case . Likewise , I am not sure what you mean by "
incident report " The road deputys and detention officers
write many incident reports each week . I was talking about
arrest reports .It is nice that you took the time to take us
back down memory lane regarding my work background in trying to
make you case , but I have faith in most of the people on this
blog that they will see through your nonsense . At least my
meager retirement checks from my meager existance as a lowly
jailor means I no longer have to work and I can go and do as I
please . You are still working aren't you ? Sorry :(

In the Know, Maybe I should better explain
why I posted what I did to Ed Jones. I don't come in here to
call people any names, (Jack ass), etc. What ticked me off was
the questioning of my service in the Marines, as well as,
"not posting my real name" on this board. I'll never
be able to explain why Mr. Jones feels he can ridicule a
perfect stranger because he doesn't post his real name, let
alone question his service to this great country in combat. One
might think he can step in here and bully people with bold
words but that routine doesn't get it with me. I even e-mailed
this man with whatever e-mail he posts in here with stating my
position and reminding him that we actually supported the same
Sheriff as well as Presidential candidates and should be more
inclined to at the very least, get along. One person in here
was actually chastized for mentioning a few Scriptures by him.
And no, I necer threatened him, but simply told him if he ever
saw me he would change his opinion of me. I even said what kind
of car I drove, with Purple Heart tags. I gave him my phone #
& e-mail, but 'no reply'. As far as Donnie is concerned, he
has enough to prepare for without this nonsense.Because Mr.
Jones decided not to call or e-mail me, I will have nothing to
do with him. That's just the way I am. My mistake was not
ignoring him and falling to a level I try to stay above. For
all I know, he was a good Deputy and I reduced myself into
referring his words to a ,"Barney Fife mentality".

You are probably right pinto, there is only
1 Captain for the football team each year here in Pickens
county and I’m am sure that more than 1 student has
smoked crack. I guess in your book, the crack smokers are
more qualified to be President of the U.S. than the football
captain. You don’t have to be old to understand the
lunacy of your position. Tell us pinto what does “acting
like a crackhead” look like?
McCain’s mother is over 90 years old,
lots of good “genes” in that family. Besides, Palin
has done a great job as both a Mayor and a Governor and many
Governors have been elected President. As a matter of
fact, more Governors than Senators! Hicks, drunks and
outlaw; I think we had a few of those in Alabama where I grew
up and a few of those in Georgia where I have lived for the
last 24 years! I sure wish we got a state rebate every
year like they get in Alaska!

I just went to City Church's website, and I
listened to BLJ's sermon last week, which was anointed and
powerful. Despite what did or did not happen at WHC, it
was obvious by listening to this message, that BLJ still has
the gift for preaching the uncompromised word. This
sermon was like his old-style of preaching.

Sounds like Uncle Jeff trying to drum up
business for his website. I posted there a couple of
times, but he seems to be sensative to folks that disagree with
his positions. I posted a few times over there and then
moved on when he chose not to post my last couple of messages.
As a matter of fact, I doubt if this post would make it
on his site!
Folks, come on up or down or over to the
Marble Festival. It is a great show with lots to do, well
worth the gas it takes to get here and back. If you are
worried, by all means fill up before you leave. So,if you
live within 125 miles or so, we look forwared to seeing you on
Saturday or Sunday.

So by your post...if a child is tardy
punish the child? Parents took punuishment out of the school!
By the same logic, of not holding the parent but the student
responsible, a child that attacks another should be charged
with assault and sent to jail? Everyone is yelling right now
"they don't know what they are doing". You can't have
it both ways. Parents... live up to your responsibilty and you
will not have to pay for your child skipping school. You are
not singled out by the law that applies to everyone with kids.
If you don't like the laws then move somewhere else and stop
crying about it. In closing, in my day I had more fear of what
my daddy would do than what the school could do to me for
skipping. Let your child skip as much as they want and they
will be illeterate and on welfare. Perhaps their parents will
keep them up for life??

L.H. Surly you understand that the
responsibilities and duties of a Mayor differ from a Governor
and a Vice-Presidential candidate. You point out in your
own words how well she did as a Mayor to help her town grow and
prosper. Lots of major projects result in lawsuits.
Why would a Mayor of Wasilla cancel a project VOTED ON BY
THE PEOPLE because of a lawsuit? I have researched Sarah
Palin’s support of the Bridge. It was tepid to say
the least; it’s more like she was not AGAINST the bridge.
If you check you will find that Congress DID GIVE ALASKA
THE MONEY promised for the Bridge, they simply took away the
requirement that the money HAD to be spent on the bridge.
Governor Palin had the option of building the
bridge and chose NOT to.
Fortunately for the people of Alaska, it
doesn’t matter what you think is ethical or not. It
is perfectly legal and proper for the Governor of Alaska to
bring family members to events and to be reimbursed for
expenses. NO ONE in Alaska is concerned about her SAVING
the state $350,000, they are proud and pleased!
L.H., I repeat: “GIBSON: I'm
talking about somebody who's a head of state, who can negotiate
for that country. Ever met one?” There is NOTHING
in that statement about travel. Find a quote if you think
you can. While you are at it, find us a list of Heads of
State that Reagan, Carter and Clinton shook hand with! Do
liberals count studying in England as a college student as
“Foreign Policy” experience? What a joke!!
Own up to it L.H. Governors (who have been elected
President much more than Senators) don’t have
“Foreign Policy” experience.
Nice try L.H., but your attacks on Palin
seem a little desperate.

Sorry al, I was using 2000 census data, the
last official comprehensive count of this nation's population.
And you must be old if you want the rest of this nation to be
like Alaska. Most of us, who are not old, don't want to live in
a country full of bass ackward hicks, drunks, outlaws on the
run from the police down in the lower 48, or 56. some of us
wouldn't mind there being more promiscuous unmarried teenage
daughters of public officials though. Obama, who has smoked
crack, has much more in common with Americans, many more of
whom have smoked crack than have been captains of football
teams. Besides, at least he has an exucse. What is McCain's
excuse for acting like a crackhead? And sure, Biden appears to
have his head up his butt most of the time, but Obama is much
healthier than McCain and there's a better chance that he will
make it all eight years without having to call in the vice.

About these posting on the school. It
is true about all the silly tactics of courts and all. My
child had the Flu, went to the Dr, and was counted as
Unexcused. Then got sent home from school with pink eye,
went to the dr and out for 3 days again, Unexcused. Heck,
the nurse sent the child home both times! Then needing to
go to follow up appt. (since no one works after 5)needed to be
checked out early on a few occassions, again, a letter comes
home threatening us that we will be reported! Both of our
children are Honor students, and never get a bad grade.
If they are sick they are sick! Why take people to
court and fine them? And if your child is old enough to
get on the bus themselves and you are on your way to work, how
is it the parents fault if they miss school? We have to
go to work, and make a living. And the idiots who can't
seem to enforce this on the child are the ones at fault.
Do you really think that a teenager who skips school
cares that mom or dad is going to get the heat for it?
Other states hold the kid accountable for their actions.
Now don't get me wrong, if mom is at home all day, or dad
is at home, then yes, they should make sure a kid gets to
school if not, then you asked for it. The sub division we
live in, 4-5 families drive their kids to school, and if a
child misses the bus one of them can bring them. This
county is setting a bad example what happened to kickin your
kids butt for acting up constantly! Incorrigible children
need to be punished, not the RESPONSIBLE parents!

Ed Jones, Jr: I dont agree much with what I
read here on the message board but I do today. Marine also
thinks you are a name dropping Jack Ass. Several of us know
Donnie. Some of us even donated to his campaign. No one cares
if you think you are a better friend to him than others. Donnie
would do well to stay away from those who simply claim to be
his friend to impress people.
I hadn't been keeping up with the board but
when I read today your message "Before I retired from the
Pickens SO , I asked about the policy regarding giving arrest
information to the progress and was fed some crap about privicy
issues , which I knew to be NOT true ! After retiring I
thought about filing a reguest under the freedom of information
act on behalf of the Progress ( my own idea ) but instead
decided to wait until January when our new sheriff takes office
. Hopefully the SO will begin to drag itself out of the 60's
& 70's mentally and finally give the citizens un-biased
information about the many bad guys around us" I am
astonished at your mistruth.
Each week I know the progress gets anything
it wants from the sheriff's Office. I know for a fact that the
Sheriff's Office sends a case status report to the progress
every monday that contains every incident report it has taken
in the preceeding week. It's the progress that doens't print
the stories, not the Sheriff failing to give it to them. I know
that Billy and Allen and even Sherman have been very open with
Dan and the staff. Get you facts straight. I'd say the
open records laws are followed pretty dang well by those stuck
in the 60's and 70's.
Oh yes, and here's one more for you to get
staright . . . a request to the Georgia POST Council will show
that you have never been a "Deputy" who retired. You
served as a Jailor. Just a jailor. 80 hours of training. Never
carried a gun or worked the streets of Pickens County. If you
go through the background of your file at the Sheriff's Office,
you served as a Corrections Deputy in Florida. Not a deal
Deputy, just a jailor there too.
Ed, I equate you to the Disney Pixar Toy
Story charachter of Buzz Lighhtyear. Thinking of yourself as
something you aren't. Ed, as Sheriff Woody says, "You're
just a toy". I hope the the new "Sheriff Woody"
also will see this about you and will keep you way, way way
away from the Office. It seems that your only redeeming quality
is that you support McCain/Palin.
I'd be interested in who you ask at the
Sheriff's Office about giving out information. I've never had a
problem getting anything out of them. Sometimes I get more than
I bargined for. They are even pretty good at getting it out on
time.

Al,
On point one: you are correct on the sales
tax part. But the other points I made stand. The self
proclaimed imited government conservative seized the property
after it had already been sold at much higher of a price due to
legal costs than finding a regular purchase. She left the town
millions in debt. Although they are now campaigning on an
anti-earmark platform, Palin budget was that high because took
$27 million in federal taxpayer dollars for her town of about
9,000 over three years. I’ll grant that that does show an
impressive knowledge of how to line up at the federal pork
trough.
Palin liked pork including the bridge to
nowhere. On the bridge, which would have cost nearly $400
million to provide access from one island to an airport on a
smaller island, with a population of 50. In reality Palin had
supported the bridge in her gubernatorial race, even after
Congress revoked the earmark. She stopped supporting it only
after election and when the possibility of getting the funds
were long since vanished. I’ve give her credit for good
hindsight.
You’re right Palin’s not as bad
as her predecessor Frank Murkowski. who got tied up in a
corrpution bribery scandal, which goes a long way towards
explaining why she is the governor in the first place. I agree
it costs money to travel back and forth, which is why when you
choose someone for governor or vice president, get someone that
will stayp and get their job done. And the fact is, her family
should not legally, nor ethically been entitled to the free
travel unless they were represening the state in business.
In the context of the Gibson question: it
was about both foreign travel and meeting with foreign heads of
state. And yes, I’d say Reagan definitely met foreign
heads of state. He had been governor of California for eight
years. Carter had been governor of Georgia for a full term,
plus time in the Ga. Senate, plus he worked in joint nuclear
project with a Naval officer with Canada. Clinton also two full
terms as governor of Arkansas under his belt and had two years
prior as the state Attorney General. Furthermore he had
studied abroad under some program. So yeah, I’d say those
three had much more opportunity that Palin.
As to Troopergate: You might note that
Palin generally gives two answers when asked about firing the
Public Safety Commissioner because he wouldn’t boot
Michael Wooten, her brother-in-law. First she’ll say I
didn’t have anything to do with the Commissioner’s
leaving. But then she’ll also justify by adding that
Wooten was horrible and the Commissioner should have been
removed and she knew a lot of reasons the trooper needed to be
fired and couldn’t understand why the Commissioner
wouldn’t do what she wanted and there was really no
choice. Two answers. Again, a clear tendency to toy with the
truth.
Weaver would have been better, but
he’s not got the cool haircut that Palin does.

Please reflect into your bible on many accounts of prophetic

Mr. Jones, thank you for the info about my
plant and the web address, I will go to it next.
To all the people of Pickens,
Our CARES program needs funds. They are the
Good Samaritan Clinic, the thrift shop, the food bank, and
meals on wheels, not to mention financial assistance to folks
down on their luck or the disabled and many more. Everyone that
works there are volunteers and I for one say a great big "
God Bless You" to all of them. Due to the gas prices, they
are having to cut back on services. We have got to help. I will
be joining the next fund raising meeting, next week I think, to
see what I can do. I am disabled and unable to work. They have
really helped me a lot. I have noticed they are all very nice
and treat everyone with respect, not so in some of our doctor
offices. If you have a business or can help, call Larry Star at
706-253-4777 and leave your name and number. We have to come
together as a county and take care of our own. Yes I receive
services but I share with others around me. Let's see what we
can do. Last week, a lady(senior volunteer)came to my door with
my lunch, I can't stand but for a few minutes. She handed me my
hot meal for lunch and trying hard not to cry said, "we
can't come for the next two or three days due to the gas."
She then had tears pouring down her cheeks. I gave her what
money I had. She cried because she wasn't able to help all of
us. God Bless her. I hope this will be posted, I see it
as a call for help for the needy. I thank you in advance for
your cooperation. You will be seeing us out and about in the
near future.
We live in a great county with oodles of
good people.
I've made some friends on this post. I
respect all of you. Mr Jones, I also was at Cool Springs on the
5th row. That was such a compliment for me, even though I don't
think it was meant to be. If you are interested in helping you
can also call me at 706-692-1867. I will find the person you
need to connect with.
Yes, I could work at home on this pc but
don't know how to find this type job.
Thanks, Luna oops, I talked too much
again. Sorry.

What is goin on? Greenmamamia, you make a
great argument without any point at all against the
administrations. You faced the same problems every parent
faces. What about the single parents I know who do get their
children to school on time and work full time jobs. You need to
be mad at your child and yourself and not anyone else. In your
post you point out that your child was the one absent 17 times
in a year. I suppose somebody held them at gunpoint? If you
think its difficult nowdays for kids... imagine a 4 tardy in
school suspention and at 6 out of school suspention and an
expulsion from school at 8 of them. This is what your child
would have faced back in the 70's and 80's. The court was not
responsible for letting you know the court date. You should
have made sure of the date yourself when, or if, you showed up
for the original court date. Actually, if the day was
rescheduled for a later time, what did it fell like when you
showed up on the original date and was never called before the
judge? Sounds to me like you were "tardy" for the
court date yourself. As for me,I would have made
"arrangements" to get my child on a bus
(car...horse...turtle)and to school in a timely manner. Perhaps
the problem is not with the school, court, or even the sickness
but not allowing yourself enough time to arrive before you are
tardy. As for feeling your sorrow, the rest us in the real
world get our kids to school, get ourselves to work, to classes
and function normally within the established uniform rules.

Wrong pinto; according to 2007 Census
Bureau data, Alaska has the 4th smallest population; 11th if
you use Obama’s count of 57 states. I am assuming Obama's
7 extra states are sort of small since they can't be found on
the map. Wyoming, North Dakota and Vermont have smaller
populations.
Alaska is the largest state in the union
and the 6th richest. Alaska has no state sales tax, no
state income tax and low property taxes. Sounds like
Alaska would be a pretty good model for the rest of the U.S.!
Obama’s choice for VP, thinks FDR was
our president when the stock market crashed in 1929 and that he
went of TV. How unfortunate for him that Hoover was
president and the 1st commercial TV broadcast wasn’t
until 1941! Is this the guy you want 1 heartbeat away
from the White House? Can he even FIND the White House?
How about Obama himself, care to debate his
accomplishments? By his own admission, he did drugs and
alcohol as a teen while Sarah Palin led her High School
Basketball team to a state championship. She was also
president of the Fellowship of Christian athletes. She
probably made more executive decisions in that organization
than Obama made in his entire life, not to mention decisions
she made as Mayor and Governor. The White House is no
place for “on the job training”!

Message:
To Jr. and Marine and all others:
Posting comments, thoughts, and opinions
are really good for people. It is a positive way to get rid of
things that may be cluttering up your thoughts and such.
Writers and readers should always do a personal check when
posting or reading threads.
It is really hard to decide someone's tone
in writing. People should never get on here and take things
personal. (Unless as of late when the community board has begun
to call out each other by "name" whether real name or
not)
When writing, you can get a very
condescending feel from some of the posts. So remember when you
are writing to be sure that you write to someone the way you
would like them to respond to you.
When you are reading, everyone should
remember that it is not ALL ABOUT YOU. This is an open forum
and anyone can write about whatever they may wish! :) I think
everyone should keep on writing! It is good to vent and just
get things off your chest and mind!
One way that could keep people from having
to read or see topics or discussions that are of no interest
would be for the "Message Board" to have a Topic
Thread. Then readers could choose the topics they are
interested in and not even look at the ones they have no
interest in.
I can almost promise you though that even
those who say they are tired of hearing about certain topics
will continue to read the ones they said they were tired of
reading.
Happy Postings,
Charlon

you really want someone whose highest qualification is

I have a question for all the parents that

have a doctor's excuse, you have to take your child to the

truancy charges for my child, because I was working in Marietta
he had missed the bus and was late to school. I lost my
job because of once a month court, therefore my child has had
pretty much perfect attendance for the last 2 years and
sometimes honor roll he has progressed great!!! All this
crap happened 3 years ago. I now work a full time job,
close to home so I am sure he gets on the bus. But, for
all this mess I have rescheduled a court date, that was not
rescheduled after the call was made, leading to being thrown in
jail. Having to pay $300 to get out of jail because
