Mark Thacker
January 20, 1959 – February 25, 2016

    Mr. Mark Thacker, age 57, of Tate passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at his home.  He was born January 20, 1959 to June and Travis Thacker in Tate, Georgia.
    Mark was preceded in death by his father, Travis Thacker.  He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Jason Patterson of Jasper; mother, June Thacker of Tate; grandson, Ryker Patterson of Jasper; brothers and sister, Mack Thacker of Jasper, Chad and Amy Thacker of Jasper, Phyllis and JJ Girard of Jasper.  Several other relatives also survive.
    Funeral Services were held  Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Johnny McPherson and Reverend Don Cagle officiating. Interment followed at Free Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Zachary Thacker, Tyler Girard, Tyson Childers, Jamie Fann, Ed Parmer, and Charlie Jarrett.
    Arrangements were entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper.

Thomas Ash
    Thomas Ash, 76, passed away February 26, 2016 after a three-month illness.
    He is survived by his wife, Eileen; two sons, Dr. Christopher Ash and Timothy Ash; and one granddaughter, Marley Ash of West Columbia, SC.
    Tom was a graduate of Stanford University and University of South Carolina. He served in the Air Force as a pilot during the Cuban missile crisis, and in the South Carolina Air National Guard.
    He was a retired executive for a major financial institution and served on several professional and community boards.
    In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Paws 4 Life, 206 Boen Creek Road, Tiger, Georgia 30576; Food Bank North East Georgia, PO Box 48857, Athens, Ga. 30604; The Wounded Warrior Project 3343 Peachtree Road, NE #M20, Atlanta, Ga. 30326 or Pruitt Cares Foundation, 700 South Enota Drive North East, Gainesville, Ga. 30506.
    The family received friends Tuesday, March 1 from 6-8 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home.
    The family will have a private burial service.

Brenda Hughes
May 13, 1951 - February 27, 2016

    Ms. Brenda Sue Hughes, age 64, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.
    Brenda was born May 13, 1951 in Nelson, Georgia to the late Elmer and Mary Langley.
    She is survived by her children, Randy Hughes (DeAnna) of Winder and Sonya Clayton of Jasper; sisters, Minnie Partin of Atlanta, Mildred Jackson of Newnan, Tina Hopkins of Nelson, Carol Goforth of Marble Hill; grandchildren, Cody Clayton, Cameron Clayton, and Alley Hughes.  Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
    Funeral Services were held at 3 p.m. on Monday, February 29th at the Roper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Daniel Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Forest Memorial Park.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Brenda Hughes Memorial Fund.

Donald Pendley
February 10, 1926 -February 27, 2016

    Mr. Donald Pendley, age 90 of Marble Hill, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at his residence.
    Mr. Pendley is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Gary & Connie Pendley of Freehome and Carlton & Diane Pendley of Marble Hill; sister, Wanda Dobson of Marble Hill; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Billy & Judy Coltrane of Jasper; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sue & Wayne Sperin of Freehome; grandchildren and spouses, Christy & Pody Reynolds and Kim & Tommy Gheesling; great-grandchildren, Karley & Garrett Reynolds; several nieces and nephews.
    The funeral service was held at 11a.m. Tuesday, March 1 at Conns Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Kenney Sutton and Rev. Richard Martin officiating. Interment at Conns Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pall bearers that served Fred Dobson, Randall Fouts, Stephen Coletrane, Frank Roper, Shane Dobson, Junior McTaggart, Riley Petty, Anthony Dobson, Jerry Roper, and Floyd Roper.
    The family accepted flowers or donate to Conns Creek Baptist Church.
