Inez Bramlett
Mrs. Inez Hall Bramlett, 79, of Ellijay, died Sunday April 24, 2016
    Mrs. Bramlett was born July 27, 1936 in Gordon County the daughter of the late B.H. and Daisey Belle Stewart Hall. Inez graduated from Sonoraville High School, worked many years at The Flower Shop in Ellijay, H.D. Lee Company in Jasper, Jackie’s Florist in Ludville, Major League Manufacturing and was most recently manager of One Source Office Supply in Ellijay. She was a member of the Harvest Missionary Church.
    Her parents, husband, Billy J. Bramlett, brothers, Jack, Howard and Don Hall; sisters, Mary Thomas, Francis Davis and Ione Hall preceded her in death.
    Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Joel and Susan Bramlett, John Mark Bramlett all of Ellijay; daughters and sons -in-law, Jill and Greg Wright, Julie and Darryl Whitworth. all of Ellijay, Janice and Lynn Steelman, Chatsworth, Judy and Barry Cates, Rocky Face; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Lillie Mae Hall, Calhoun; sister and brother-in-law, Essie Ann and Gene Holsenback, Calhoun; along with several nieces and nephews also survive.
    Funeral service was held Saturday, April 30, at 2 p.m. from the Harvest Missionary Church with Rev. Glenn Arnold and Rev. Chad Kelly officiating. Interment followed in the Yukon Cemetery.
    The family request in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Yukon Cemetery Fund P.O. Box 466, Ellijay, Ga. 30540.

Paul Thomas III
June 1, 1950 - April 30, 2016

    Paul (Tom) Thomas III, 65, of Jasper, passed away on Saturday April 30, 2016 at his residence.
    Mr. Thomas is survived by his brothers, David Thomas of Jasper and Mark Thomas of Jasper; and his sister, Ann Thomas of Murphy, NC; and 6 cousins.
    A memorial service will be scheduled by his family at a later date.

Freddie Hamrick
June 17, 1927 – April 19, 2016

    Mrs. Freddie Wilbanks Hamrick, 88, of Jasper, passed away Tuesday night at her daughter’s home in Jasper.  She was born June 17, 1927 to Fred and Ina Wilbanks in Canton, Georgia.
    Freddie was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Gordon Phillip Hamrick, Jr.
    She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis H. and Howard (Peewee) Walker of Jasper, Cheryl H. and Steve Sewell of Jasper; granddaughter, Stacia Walker; great-grandsons, Wesley Roland (Vella), Matthew Mullins (Jessica); great-great-grandchildren, Jonah Foresman, Penny Roland, Maddox Mullins, Jamie Mullins; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Melvin Pitts, Lucy and Don West, Linda and Jon Burch; and sister-in-law, Wava Wilbanks. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
    The funeral service was held at 3:30 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2016 at Jasper United Methodist Church with Reverend Greg Meadows, Reverend Max Caylor, and Chaplain Roland Nelson officiating. Entombment followed at Sunrise Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. 
    The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Jasper United Methodist Church Organ Fund.
    Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper, Georgia.

Laverne Johnston
April 21, 1951 – April 25, 2016

    Laverne Johnston, 65, of Blue Ridge, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 at her home.
    She is survived by her husband, Raymond Johnston, Jr. of Blue Ridge; daughter, Bobbie Dinsmore of Ellijay; sister, Polly Martin of Jasper; brother, Vernon Potts of Ellijay; grandchildren, Philip Dinsmore of Ellijay, Tracy Dinsmore of Canton; and great-granddaughter, McKenah Crawford.
    The funeral service was held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2016 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Junior Maney officiating.  Interment followed at Lake Forest Memorial Park.
    Arrangements were entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper.

June Ayers
June 30, 1923 - May 2, 2016

    Mrs. June Ayers, 92, of the Hinton Community, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at her residence.
    Mrs. Ayers is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Lane & Dinky Ayers of Buchanan, GA and Terry & Linda Ayers of Milton, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Willene & Jerry McClure of Hinton Community; 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
    Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 4 from 5 until 10 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. until prior to the funeral hour. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 5 from the chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Pastor Jackie Sanders and Chaplain David Lewis officiating. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Grandsons to serve as pallbearers.

Christine Brooks
May 24, 1942 - April 29, 2016

    Mrs. Christine Brooks, 73, of Jasper, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. 
    She is survived by her husband, Eugene Brooks of Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Roger McBrayer of Cullman, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Troy Southerland of Jasper; daughter, Brenda Lee Brooks of Jasper; daughter, Tonya Jump of Jasper; daughter and son-in- law, Lynn and Scotty Young of Canton; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Irene Wofford of Ellijay; sister-in-laws, Opalene Parton of Cumming, Marie Fountain of Canton, and Francis Brooks of Canton; sister-in-law and brother in-law, Pat and Roy Roberts of Little Rock Arkansas; and  brother in-law, Ernest Brooks of the Yellow Creek community. Twelve grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren also survive.
    She was preceded in death by her mother, Velma Mae Wofford.
    Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 2 at Refuge Baptist Church with Reverend Thomas Shipman and Reverend Danny Townsend officiating. Interment followed at Lake Forest Memorial Park.
    Arrangements were entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper, Georgia.
