Ovalene Darnell

 

Ovalene Darnell, 86, of Canton, GA passed away Tuesday, April 02, 2019 at Hidden Lakes Assisted Living Facility. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., on Friday, April 5, 2019, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Grant Wade and Rev. Stacey Smith officiating.  Interment followed at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husbands,  John H. Pettett and  William H. Darnell.   

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Aaron Ingram, Canton; grandchildren, Taylor and Emily Ingram, Waleska and Whitney and Heath Tippens, Canton; great grandsons, Cole Tippens, Canton, Tate Ingram, Waleska and Luke Tippens, Canton; several nieces, nephews, friends and other family also survive.

Martha Barrett 

June 2, 1961 - April 4, 2019

 

Mrs. Martha Louise (Lucie) Barrett, 57, passed away Thursday, April 4, at Advent Health Murray. Lucie was born and raised in Pickens County.

Lucie is survived by her husband, Jeff Barrett of Chatsworth; sons, Charles Barrett of Dalton, Ga and Jeremiah Cochran of Gwinnett County; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Luke Pulliam of Canton; brothers, Wayne Neighbours of Dawsonville and Doug Neighbours of Jasper; sister, Jan Ridgill of Matthews, North Carolina;  three grandchildren also survive, Jeremiah Cochran Jr, Mason Pulliam, and Aniston Pulliam. 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 8,  at the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Thurman officiating.

Pallbearers: Charlie Barrett, Jeff Barrett, Jeremiah Cochran, Wayne Neighbours, Dell Neighbours and Luke Pulliam.

Internment was at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Jasper immediately following the funeral services.

Ruby Teem

September 27, 1931 - April 3, 2019

 

Mrs. Ruby Teem, 87, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at her residence in Talking Rock. 

Mrs. Teem is survived by her daughter, Vivian Quinton of Talking Rock; sister, Ludie Mae Burke of Adairsville; two grandchildren, Thomas and Kathy Quinton and Connie and Ricky Holmes. Several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 5 at Clear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Danny Townsend officiating.

Pallbearers: Eddie Stuart, David Bell, Gary Dale, Jimmy Lee, Louis Campano and Fred Harmon.

Ken Lambert

August 30, 1965 - April 1, 2019

 

Mr. Ken Lambert, 53, passed away Monday, April 1, 2019 at his business in Marble Hill.

Ken is survived by his wife, Rebecca Lambert; son, Jacob Lambert of Marble Hill; brother, Doug Davenport of Kennesaw; sisters, Enid Jackson of Blairsville; and Erika Davenport of Blairsville; mother-in-law, Lois Ridings of Marble Hill; sister-in-law and husband, Melissa and Kenny Payne of Marble Hill.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 4, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Rev. Truman Pyles and Rev. Keith Barnes officiating.

Pallbearers: Phillip Hungate, Jimmy Jones, Alan Crow, Brady Clayton, Phillip James and Ethan Gibson.

Interment was at Lake Forest Memorial Park immediately following the funeral services.

Lonnie Hampton, Jr

August 25, 1930 - April 6, 2019

Mr. Lonnie Hampton, Jr, 88, of Ball Ground, GA passed away at Sonshine Manor in Jasper on Saturday, April 6, 2019.

Mr. Hampton, (Bruh Hamp) is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Alonzo and Marshalette Hampton of Mableton, Ga.; brother, Milton Hampton of Milledgeville; sisters, Mary Hampton of Canton and Edith Boyer of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Lorettta (Robert) Fleming, Sidney (Arlinda) Hooks, Kerry Jordan and Brian (Danielle) Hampton; great-grandchildren, Shalanda Finley, Shalonda Bowden, Hannah Hampton, Jami Jordan, Justin Jordan, Jacoryn Jordan, Kyler Jordan and Kaleb Jordan.

He is also mourned by his nieces and nephews, he had a hand in raising, Charles (Jane) Hooks, Shelia Hooks, Tony (Hope) Hooks, Irish (Ithiel) Jones, Cookie Hooks and Brad Hooks. Other nieces and nephews who love him very much mourn his memories.

At heaven’s gates awaits his parents, Lonnie and Sallie Hampton; wife, Pinkie Hampton; son, Lambert Hooks; siblings, Nelson (Sonny) Hampton, Evelyn Hampton, Oneida Renfroe, Beauty Hampton and Shirley Lango.

Visitation will begin Friday, April 12 at 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday, April 13, from 8 a.m. to the service hour. 

Funeral service will be April 13, at 1 p.m. at the Cagle Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ithiel Jones, officiating.

Internment will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Jasper immediately following the funeral services.

The family would like to thank a wonderful friend, Calvin Murdock. Also, Tom Shipley and staff of Georgia Mountains Hospice and Sarah Cheshire and Mandy Mull and staff at Sonshine Manor. We would also like to thank Rev. Kevin Roach for his service to Mr. Hampton.

Roy Grizzle

 

Roy Grizzle, 79, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019. He was born March 23, 1940 to George Washington and Noma Grizzle in McCaysville, Georgia.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lillian Grizzle of Jasper; daughters and son-in-law, Ronda and Dan Mosley of Jasper, Vickie Painter of Jasper; son, Tony Grizzle of Jasper; grandchildren, Chase and Kaylea Mosley of Jasper, Nathan and Megan Painter of Jasper; great-grandchildren, Hudson Mosley, Kaden Painter, Khole Adkins; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Shirley Grizzle of Talking Rock. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Washington and Noma Grizzle; sisters, Hazel G. Rayburn and Emma G. Fowler.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 7, 2019 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Lamar Cantrell officiating.  Interment followed in the Pleasant Valley Church Cemetery: Yukon Road, Talking Rock, Georgia  30175. Serving as pallbearers are Chase Mosley, Nathan Painter, Terry Fowler, Barry Fowler, Joe Fowler, Robby Mathis; honorary pallbearers are Jerry Millsaps and Arthel Davis.
