Laura "Bot" Silver, age 82, of Talking Rock, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Emory Midtown. Bot was born March 25, 1938 in Ball Ground, Georgia to Bascomb and Ruby Biddy.
She is survived by husband, Walter Dillard Silver of Talking Rock; daughters and son-in-law, Carolyn And Danny Childers of Talking Rock, Janet Silver of Cumming; brother, Herman Biddy of Ball Ground; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Biddy of Ball Ground, Cleo Silvers of Nelson, Betty Silvers of Jasper; grandchildren, Lauren and Chris Saxon of Canton, Dakota and Stephen Richards of Jasper, Dillon and Sydney Horton of Dawsonville, Cassidy Dover of Dawsonville; great-grandchildren, Evan Saxon, Noah Saxon, Jordan Richards, Carter Dover, and Calion Dover. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2020 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Phillips and Rev. Greg Long officiating. Interment followed in the Ball Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.

Walter Denson Jr.
Walter Sam Denson, Jr. (Junior) passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Manor Lake Assisted Living and Memory Care-Bridgemill, Canton, Georgia. Junior was born in 1944 in Jasper, Georgia. He is a retired veteran, a retired clerk for the US Postal Service-Canton, and a retired technician from AmeriGas Propane. He loved helping anyone and everyone. Through the years he also was a volunteer firefighter at the Clayton Community Fire Department, a First Responder, baled hay in the summer and loved to garden, fish and hunt. Even though Alzheimers robbed him of many things, it did not take away his want to help, work outside and love for his family. He was the oldest child of his family.
Junior is preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Denson; Mom, Blanche Denson; dad, Walter Sam Denson, Sr.; brothers, Jackie Denson and Ronnie Denson; and sister, Johnnie Sue Free.
Junior is survived by his daughter, Jacquline (David) Barnes; grandson, Colby Barnes; sisters, Dianna Ratcliff of Jasper, Christine Poole of Waleska, Carolyn Byess of Jasper and Janet Blackwell of Canton; brothers, Gene Denson of Canton, Chris Denson of Canton and many other family and friends.
Junior’s family wants to thank Amity Hospice for their great care and the caregivers at Manor Lake Memory Care at Bridgemill. We also would like to extend a thank you to Don Ware of In Their Honor for your loving care of my Daddy.
Junior’s visitation will be at South Canton Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Wednesday, May 20, 2020, from 9 a.m. to the funeral hour of 11:30 a.m. The funeral will be held in South Canton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be 2 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery.

Mr. Danny Hitt, 57, of Jasper, passed away Monday, May 18, 2020 at his residence.
Mr. Hitt is survived by his wife, Judy Hitt of Jasper; son, Matthew Neal Hitt of Jasper; daughter, Jessica Hitt-Pendley of Jasper; mother, Faye Hitt of Jasper; brother, Tim Hitt of Jasper; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Limited visitation is Wednesday, May 20, from 8 a.m. until the funeral service hour.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home, with Rev. Greg Long and Rev. Jerold McPherson officiating.
Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens immediately following the funeral service.

Born in Nashville, TN and raised in Birmingham, AL.
Graduate of Birmingham Southern where she was an active member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority and later studied fashion design and art at Chambre Syndicale De La Couture Parisienne in Paris, France. She then went on to work as a fashion designer and Teen Board Fashion advisor for Rich's Department Store in Atlanta, GA
Susan was a parishioner of St. Catherine's Episcopal Church in Marietta, GA for 40+ years where she previously worked as a Preschool Teacher and served on the Altar Guild. In her free time she enjoyed her talents as an artist, in pottery and quilting.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Pierce Martin and their three children with their spouses, Becky and Jerry Smith, Laurie and Scott Smith, and Farrell and Stephanie Martin.
Susan leaves behind a legacy of 10 grandchildren, Ryan A. Smith, Ali Kilkenny-Smith, Kathryn A. Smith, Harrison J. Smith, Jack Kilkenny-Smith, Olivia G. Smith, Walker P. Martin, Katie L. Martin, Shepherd S. Smith and Creed M. Smith.
Susan will be interred at St. Catherine's Episcopal Church in Marietta and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for contributions to be made to Georgia Mountains Hospice in Jasper, GA
