Obituaries for Oct. 15, 2020; Randy Casey Jr., Louise McReynolds, Dick Lawson, Michael Davidson

Randy Casey Jr.

Randy Gene Casey Jr., of Jasper, passed away on October 2, 2020. 

A funeral service was held on October 9, 2020 at 1 p.m. and graveside service followed at Lake Forest Memorial Park.

Randy was born in Tennessee to August and Randy Casey Sr. on June 17, 1978. He went to Pickens County High School where he graduated. Randy married Jessica Reynolds on October 26, 2013 and share four boys together.

Randy is survived by his loving wife, Jessica Casey; Sons, Michael Casey, Zackery Meadows Casey, Randy Lee Casey, and Trey Casey; Mother and Father, August and Randy Casey Sr.; Sisters, Amber Meadows and Maranda Casey; and a host of extended family and close friends.

 

Louise McReynolds

 

Louise Garland McReynolds, 79, of Rydal, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Louise was born on March 31, 1941 in Gilmer County to the late Worth Garland and Lela Tatum Garland. She was a member of Sonoraville Baptist Church. In addition to her parents Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Don McReynolds, Sr., and a brother, Jerrel Garland; and a granddaughter, Melissa McReynolds. 

She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey McReynolds of Calhoun, and Dan McReynolds Jr. of Louisville, KY; two brothers, Gene Garland, and Earl Garland; two sisters, Wylene Wilkie, and Diane Hales; two grandchildren, Emily McReynolds, and Nick McReynolds; great grandchildren also survive.

The funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 11 a.m. from Sonoraville Baptist Church with Reverend Jether Cochran and Reverend Jamie Hunt officiating. Burial followed in Gaines Cemetery.

Dick Lawson

Dick Lawson, 74, of Ball Ground passed away Friday, October 9, 2020 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. He was born October 4, 1946 to James and Bernice Lawson in Ball Ground. 

He is survived by his sons and daughters in laws, Scott and Misty Lawson of Ellijay; Joe and Cindy Lawson of Canton; father Jim Lawson, brother and sister in law, David and Mary Lawson, sister and brother in law, Gina and Fred Talley, grandchildren, Madison Lawson, Isabelle Lawson, Lita Lawson and Lanny Lawson. He is preceded in death by his wife Cookie Lawson. 

The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home and Crematory on  Wednesday, October 14, 2020 from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. 

Graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 3 p.m. at Mica Baptist Church Cemetery with Chaplin Tim Kinnersley officiating. 

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory. 

 

Michael Davidson

Mr. Michael Davidson, 57, of Twin Tanks Community, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2020 as the result of an automobile accident.

Michael is survived by his sons, Christopher Davidson of Missouri and Zachary Davidson of Mobile, AL; daughter, Hillary Davidson of Mobile, AL; mother, Martha Davidson of Twin Tanks Community; father, Phillip Davidson of Quinton, VA; brother, Phillip M. Davidson Jr. of Cornelia, GA; sister, Kristal D. Bland of Springfield, IL; nephew, Ryan Davidson; and niece, Ashley Cox.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020 at East Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery in the Ryo Community, with family members speaking.
