This Saturday’s CAPH’N Carnival will help fill family calendars and pantries

good sam carnival

Jessie Moore, UGA Extension Service, will be leading food demonstrations at 11 and 12 during the Carnival on Saturday, June 22.

Families looking for free, fun, and healthy summer activities are in luck this weekend. Good Samaritan Health and Wellness Center along with several other area non-profits are hosting a child-friendly CAPH’N Carnival this Saturday, June 22 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the North Georgia Pregnancy & Family Resource Center (1549 E Church St, Jasper, GA 30143). The day will be filled with fun kids’ activities, live music, face painting, and even a bounce house. Attendees will also be able to view cooking demonstrations at 11 a.m. and 12 noon with UGA County Extension that entitles them a

voucher for a healthy box of food at CARES, and Angel Babies Boutique will have a “fill-a-bag” sale all day.

The carnival is part of a new pilot program called CAPH’N. CAPH’N stands for Children Access to Primary Healthcare and Nutrition. Making sure children are provided with sufficient nutrients in order to grow and live a healthy life is at the forefront of CAPH’N’s mission.
