Bent Tree opens amenities to the public with “Private Pass”

“We want our neighbors to know this is a place for everyone”

If you love the outdoors and would enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of a gated community, non-Bent Tree residents can now purchase a “Private Pass” and access all of their amenities, from golf to pickleball, hiking, pools, and more.

“Bent Tree is such a special place with so much to offer,” said Bent Tree Director of Marketing & Communications Taree Darby. “We understand that our gated community can sometimes be perceived as exclusive, but we have a very approachable, easygoing, almost summer camp kind of atmosphere, and we truly want to share the beauty and amenities of Bent Tree with our neighbors.”

Bent Tree is offering a limited number of Private Passes for non-residents in 2025, and Darby said they are a “fantastic value” compared to other clubs.

There are two types of 12-month passes offered: The “Full Access Pass” ($3,000/individual, $4,000/family), which includes unlimited access to the 18-hole golf course; and the “Courts Pass” ($1,500/individual, $2,000/family), which does not include unlimited golf but where members can pay the daily guest rate for an occasional round.

Golfers would pay cart and range ball fees for both types of passes. All Private Pass holders get full access to the lake, where they can fish and bring their boat or kayak, as well as access to tennis and pickleball courts, five hiking trails, two pools, the Tavern restaurant, the beach area, and any social event the community offers.

The Bent Tree stable is in a transitional period and services have been temporarily suspended.

Private Pass holders can join Bent Tree clubs, too, like their hiking club, and will receive the community newsletter to stay up-to-date on events.

“We have live music on the beach and holiday events,” Darby said. “Our clubhouse also has amazing activities and has one of the best views in Pickens County with incredible sunsets. People can even utilize these facilities for their events like weddings or showers.”

Private Pass holders can also bring a guest to enjoy their amenities year-round.

To respect Bent Tree residents who might be concerned about non-residents backing up available tee-times or crowding the facilities, Bent Tree is capping the number of Private Passes available to keep the same relaxed atmosphere people have grown to love. Anyone non-resident who applies for a pass will also be vetted, which will include a background check.

“We’re proud to be a part of Pickens County,” Darby said, “and we want our neighbors to know this is a place for everyone. Whether you’ve been curious about our community or you’re a long-time local, we want you to come and explore Bent Tree with a Private Pass.”
