(JASPER, GA – January 10, 2026) – Teens at the Boys & Girls Club of North Georgia in Jasper will soon have access to new, cutting-edge opportunities to learn, create, and collaborate through the establishment of a Digital Learning Center. This exciting initiative is made possible through a cooperative effort between the Rotary Club of Big Canoe and the Rotary Club of Jasper.

Greg Whitaker, president of the Rotary Club of Big Canoe, said, “This project is a powerful example of Rotary’s “Unite for Good” theme – bringing our two clubs together to create opportunity, spark creativity, and invest in the future of our youth. When Rotarians collaborate, our impact is greater and our communities are stronger.”

Together, the two Rotary clubs are investing $20,000 raised through their fundraising efforts, supplemented by two Rotary District Grants totaling $6,670, and a corporate sponsorship from Proactive Wealth Strategies. These combined resources will fund the creation of the Digital Learning Center within the Don K. Russell Teen Center at Roper Park.

The Digital Learning Center will equip teens with modern tools and hands-on learning experiences, including access to 20 iPads, tripods, ring lights, software, and curriculum materials. Through this program, participants will develop valuable digital skills by producing videos, creating a club newsletter, and engaging in other technology-driven projects that foster creativity, communication, and confidence.

This collaborative investment reflects Rotary’s commitment to empowering young people with the skills and resources they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world. A dedication ceremony is planned for mid-April.

Dale Morrissey, president of the Rotary Club of Jasper, said, “We are proud to partner with the Rotary Club of Big Canoe to provide these necessary items for the Boys & Girls Club. We are working together to make great things happen.”
