Update Boil Water Advisory for Jasper customers in Cove Road area LIFTED

As of 12:30PM on Thursday, January 30th, the recommended Boil Water Advisory for customers along Cove Road affected by yesterday’s main break has been lifted.  Sample results all came back negative for Total Coliform and E. Coli.

Customers are recommended to flush through all internal faucets for a minimum of 2 minutes prior to resuming use for drinking water and food preparation.

The City of Jasper experienced a water main break along Cove Road that resulted in an outage for customers between Burnt Mountain Road and Still Hollow Road this morning.  Out of an abundance of caution, the City has taken samples from various points in this isolated area and bacteriological testing is being performed.  Until the “all clear” is received, we do recommend that customers in this area follow boil water guidelines.  I have attached a copy of the BWA for your information.

Bacteriological testing takes a minimum of 24 hours to complete.  We anticipate receiving results by 12:30 – 1PM tomorrow.  Pickens County has sent a CodeRED to customers in this area, and the City has posted on our social media outlets.
