Early voting starts October 17

            Advanced in-person voting for the November 8 election starts October 17 and will be held at the Pickens Community Center on Camp Road.

            The advanced voting location will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday for three weeks from October 17 to November 4 and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday voting will be October 22 and 29.

            The last day to submit an absentee ballot application for the November General Election is October 28. The Election and Registration Office reminds voters that it is important to fill out the information as requested and to provide identification as listed because the absentee ballot process has changed.

            As stated, the general election will be on November 8 and will take place at your assigned local precinct from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. This is also the last day for mailed absentee ballots to reach the county election office. Absentee ballots received after 7 p.m. will not be counted.

            The Pickens Elections and Registration Office has fully moved to its new location in the State Patrol Post at 3100 Camp Road and the absentee drop box is located inside. For any questions the office can be reached at 706-253-8781.
