The Jasper Farmers Market early birds swooped in and carried off the okra first thing. Guess next Saturday shoppers need to swoop in earlier to get a share?
Zach Henson offers beautiful red onions along with a multitude of squash. Other veggie vendors have tomatoes in red and yellow, smooth and bumpy. Green beans, lettuce, and peppers are available, too, along with sweet corn. There is so much more than vegetables at the market like pear jelly, yum! You can still get seedlings for the garden including herbs.
Lemonades and coffees, freeze dried veg and candies, jewelry and crafts galore. There are many people to talk with at the market so it’s really a social event.
Learn about the special made candles, soaps, and hand lotions. Get a wonderful fragrance for your car.. Get your tools sharpened while you shop. Decorate the dog.
Find plants for the yard from Maryann and Dean of the Plant Adoption Center. They also have pickerel for your pond as well as house plants for your home.
You will find gourmet treats that can’t be beat. Sourdough bread and sourdough cookies that will be tasty to your tongue. Get a unique planter or a plant stand. Every week brings many good choices of crafted goods at the market.
The Jasper Farmers Market has something for everyone. So make it a habit to come and visit every Saturday morning, 7:30 a.m. until noon at the Park N Ride parking lot across from the Veteran’s Memorial Park across from the Chamber of Commerce across from Lee Newton Memorial Park. There’s room to roam, roll in the grass, walk the dogs, or just walk yourself. Also, Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. is the Summer Farmers Market which will run until the end of August.
