Float application deadline Nov. 27
The Jasper Merchant’s Association invites the public to the 17th annual Night of Lights Christmas parade Sunday, Dec. 3. The event begins at 2 p.m. with the annual parade at 6 p.m. Parade applications will be accepted until November 27. The theme this year is “Christmas in the Good Ol’ Days.” Vendors, food, and live entertainment will be at the Pickens County Courthouse lawn, including music from a local school chorus. The Christmas Story will be read before the lighting of the tree at 6 p.m. just before the parade starts. Children can visit Santa and Ms. Claus at the courthouse between 4-5:45 p.m. Toys for Tots will be on site as well. Attendees can bring an unwrapped toy to donate to help make Christmas a little brighter for children in need. Float registration is $20. Vendor booth fee is $75. Applications and rules can be found at www.jmaevents.com/night-of-lights-christmas-parade/. JMA has implemented a new staging area and route this year, details of which are on the application. Anyone with a float must attend a mandatory meeting Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. to receive parade and lineup information.
