Timmy Martin
Timmy Lamar Martin, 59, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026.
Survivors include: wife, Veronica Martin of Talking Rock; daughters, Autumn, Alexis, Allie, Katelyn, and Makayla and Luke Hembree; sons, John and Thomas; brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Jannett Martin; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Roy Hostetler; brother, Jonathon and Tasha Jarrett; father-in-law, Ron and Brenda Evans; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Alisha and Burt Blackwell; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Whitney and Greg Tilley; and grandchildren and other family also survive.
Timmy was preceded in death by his father, Herman Martin; mother and stepfather, Vernet and Johnny Jarrett; and brother, Tracey Martin.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Antioch Baptist Church with John Jarrett and Jason Hancock officiating. The interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 10 am until 1:30 p.m.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to help the family with funeral expenses or the Leukemia Foundation.

Eleanor Bryans
Eleanor Annette Bryans entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 21, 2026. Annette devoted her life to Jesus, her family, teaching, and encouraging the people God placed in her life.
Annette was born in Marietta, GA, and grew up in Brookhaven, GA before moving cross-country to San Fransico, CA and later Seattle, WA for a few years where she graduated from high school. In 1956, she moved back to Georgia to marry her high school sweetheart Robert (Bob) N. Bryans.
They settled in East Marietta where they raised their three children, Robbe N. Bryans, Craig R. Bryans, and Elyse A. Bryans. They became charter members of Eastside Baptist Church in 1961, where Annette enjoyed singing in the choir, and Bob served in various leadership positions, including as a deacon. Over the next few decades, Annette was privileged to serve as a Senior High Girls’ Sunday School teacher and chaperoned multiple summer choir tours and retreats with the youth group. For many years, the Bryans household hosted weekly Monday night Bible studies for the youth ministry, which Bob taught. Her lifelong example of a godly Christian woman became a legacy that many now consider to be a significant influence in their early Christian walk.
As her children grew, attended college, established careers, and began families of their own, Annette discovered the joy of poetic free-verse writing through composing handwritten greeting cards for friends and family. Encouraged by the response from these personalized cards, she expanded her daily writing discipline. Ultimately, she spent nearly 10 years compiling, polishing, and publishing a book of her poetry, Walk With Me. The book is dedicated for commitment to service to family and friends who joyfully helped her complete it.
Following high school, Annette received advanced education in modeling and worked several years at modeling shows, a perfect fit for her elegant personality. Her passion was working part-time as a teacher’s aid and teacher in Eastside’s pre-school. Later, she worked for one of Atlanta’s premier residential real estate companies. She devoted her final years of working life to caring faithfully for her grandchildren, finding great joy and purpose in their daily lives.
Annette, affectionately known to her grandchildren and family as Grannette, loved celebrating. Birthdays, holidays, and family gatherings were opportunities to dress up and bring the people she loved together. She was intentional about making these occasions special, and her gifts were always accompanied by one of her beautiful handwritten cards containing her poetry. She ended each visit with the same words “I love you, love everybody else for me.”
Annette leaves behind a legacy not only in the family she raised and the grandchildren she adored, but in the countless people she taught, encouraged, prayed for, and loved throughout her life. Her influence can be found in the lives of those who learned from her, in handwritten cards, in the songs she sang, and in the words of Scripture she repeated.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will carry her memory, her faith, her words, and her love for them until they are reunited with her in the presence of Christ for eternity.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Newton Bryans; her son, Robert Newton (Robbe) Bryans Jr.; her twin brothers, William Ronald Wilson and James Donald (Don) Wilson; and her parents, William Howard Wilson, Jr. and Emma Kate Wilson, cousins William Harold (Bill) Wilson and James Alfred (Jim) Wilson.
Annette is survived by her son, Craig Ronald Bryans, and his wife, Kim Marie Bryans; daughter, Elyse Annette Bryans; daughter-in-law, Celia Luann Bryans; granddaughters, Catherine Laura (Catie) Bryans, Amanda Bryans Jackson and her husband, Levi Jeffrey Jackson; grandsons, Benjamin Franklin Bryans and James Ronald Bryans; her sister-in-law, Janice Bryans; nephews, Kevin Cone, Brian Cone, Shannon Bryans, Allen Bryans Jr. and his daughter Misti Bryans; and her cousin Roberta Wilson Pegueros. She is also survived by many other beloved family members and friends.
The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 10 a.m. until just prior to the funeral service. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 28, 2026 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Alan Daniels officiating. The Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, at 2:30 p.m. The cemetery is located at 1680 Westview Drive SW Atlanta Ga 30310.
Refreshments will be served at the funeral home following the funeral service.

Jackie Graham
Jackie Eugene Graham, 84, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. Jackie was born on June 28, 1942 in Canton, Ohio to George and Martha Dilgard Graham.
Jackie was employed by Lockheed Aircraft for 35 years as a Planner and served in the Army in the 3rd Infantry Division in Germany. In his free time, he enjoyed hiking and camping…he hiked all of the Appalachian Trail in Georgia. He also helped with his son’s Boy Scout Troop for several years. Jackie was married to his wife Audrey for 64 years, he and his wife enjoyed years of travel in their retirement years together. Jackie was a devoted husband and father and liked everyone he met.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Graham of Jasper; son, Casey Graham of Marietta; brother, George Graham of Woodstock; brother and sister-in-law, David and Dale Graham of Holly Springs; sister and brother-in-law, Patty and Bobby Freeman; and other family also survive.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, George and Martha Graham.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on August 27, 2026 at Georgia National Cemetery with Rev. Alan Day officiating; 1080 Scott Hudgins Dr, Canton, GA 30114.

Yvonne O’Neal
Yvonne Bernice O’Neal, 83, of McCaysville, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 23, 2026 surrounded by the love of the family and friends who meant so much to her.
She was born on August 21, 1943 in Jasper, Georgia to the late Hoyt and Ethel Fendley Qualls. Yvonne attended Macedonia Baptist Church, and her faith was an important part of who she was and how she lived her life. Yvonne treasured the years she spent working at Imerys Marble and Speedburger, both places that held many special memories for her.
Yvonne enjoyed riding, shopping, thrifting, and eating a good hamburger. More than anything, Yvonne loved being with family and friends, and was rarely happier than when she was surrounded by people she cared about.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shannon Cordell; and aunt, Annie Fendley.
Yvonne is survived by her beloved husband, Newell O’Neal; son, Ashley Cordell; daughter, Amberly Biles; grandchildren, Brighton Biles, Cohen Biles, Nick Cordell, and Caleb Wigley; and sister, Becky Denney.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 2 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Joey Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery in Jasper, Georgia with the following serving as pallbearers: Shane Biles, Will Denney, Danny Ensley, Wesley Payne, Kevin O’Neal, and Guinn O’Neal. Danny Prather
Danny Prather, 64, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026 at his home. He was born November 4, 1961 to Harley and Jessie Prather in El Paso, Texas.
Danny loved his family deeply— they were the heart of his life. He also loved the outdoors, finding joy and peace in the beauty of nature and the time he spent outside. Danny will be remembered for the love he shared with his family and the simple pleasures that brought him happiness.
Danny worked for Peach State Trucking for 25 years. He was a clerk and deacon at County Line Baptist Church.
Danny is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jan Prather of Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Carlee and Brandon Nelson of Jasper; grandchildren, Evan Nelson and Etta Nelson; mother, Jessie Prather of Jasper; sister and brother-in-law, Joanna and Chris Holcomb of Jasper; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Vernon and Melba Sullivan of Jasper; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Don Boggus of Jasper; nephews, Phillip Clark (Nicole) of Jasper, Nick and Megan Clark of Jasper; niece, Taylor Boggus of Savannah; great-niece, Cohen Clark; and great-nephew, Colson Clark. A host of cousins, extended family, and close friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harley “Buck” Prather.

Michael King
Mr. Michael King, 69, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. He was born on December 28, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Michael King and Flora Fraley.
Michael was larger than life. He lived with purpose, drive, and a deep commitment to the work he believed in. In the early 2000s, he helped start hospice programs that brought comfort to many families and later devoted himself to therapy work with children.
His career was important to him, but his greatest pride was always his family, and he carried that pride with the steady dedication of a loving son, husband, and father.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cheryl King; and his son, Nicholas Estel King.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael D. and Tracey King; his daughter, Cheryl Burkhart; and his grandchildren, Anabelle King, Michael A. King, and Tyler Silver. His brother, Raymond Fraely, and his sister, Bridgette Aegerter also survive to cherish his memory.
Michael’s funeral service was held in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 2 p.m. Interment followed at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

Wayne Neighbours
Wayne Neighbours, 66, of Dawsonville, Georgia, passed away on August 20, 2026, after a brief illness. Born in Jasper, he was the son of the late Mr. Dean Neighbours and Bettie Hill Neighbours.
Wayne was a simple, steady man who believed in hard work and doing things the right way. He spent his life as a land surveyor and could fix just about anything he put his hands on. He was protective, loyal, and carried a quiet strength that his family depended on. Wayne loved westerns, loved looking up at the stars and sky, and always had a piece of wisdom ready when someone needed it. He leaves behind a legacy of love — a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kaye Shirley Neighbours; daughter, Vanessa McBrayer; son, Michael Neighbours and his wife Holly, his grandchildren: Matthew McBrayer, Daniel McBrayer, Reese Neighbours, Jase Neighbours, Curtis Neighbours, Gavin Neighbours, and Dane Neighbours; and his sister, Jan Ridgill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Dean Neighbours, David Neighbours, and Doug Neighbours; and his sister Lucy Barrett.
A funeral service was conducted at 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 23 in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel, with interment following at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers were Michael McBrayer, Dale Neighbours, Noah Neighbours, Charlie Barrett, Luke Evans, and Dylan Whit.

Jeff Smith
Jeff “Nose” Smith, 57, of Ball Ground passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2026. Jeff was born on September 10, 1968 to Carl Junior and Azzie Lee Smith.
Nose loved his grandkids, working on his truck and motorcycle, gardening, and watching bands play. Nose was a true friend to many and will be lovingly missed by his family and friends.
Jeff is survived by son Scott Smith; grandchildren Grayson Smith, Micah Giefing, Tucker Smith; sisters Ruth Ann Rampley, Carol Collett, Jenny Smith, Leigh Smith Crowder, brothers Ricky Smith, brother Chris (Kathy) Smith. A bunch of nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Sunday, August 23rd at 2 p.m. in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel.

Betty Jenkins
With heavy hearts and abiding love, we remember Betty Hunter Jenkins, who passed away on August 15, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on January 3, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio, Betty’s vibrant spirit touched every life she encountered—each friendship forged as effortlessly as a warm conversation.
Betty found joy in painting and ceramic and sharing her creations with family and friends. Her love for yellow roses and all things colored purple—her favorite color, which came to symbolize the warmth and comfort she brought to those around her.
Betty never met a stranger. With a heart open to every soul, she found delight in the simple pleasure of talking with new friends. Long car rides with her devoted husband Roger were some of her greatest joys, and their adventures often led them to many fishing spots, where they laughed and enjoyed being with each other. Spotting red birds brought a sparkle to her day; a subtle, cheerful reminder of life’s small wonders.
Above all, Betty loved her family more than anything else in this world. Her devotion as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was unwavering and pure. She leaves behind her loving husband, Roger Jenkins, whose partnership and companionship through the years stood as an unwavering pillar of their family.
Her memory lives on through her cherished children: Charles Hargitt and his wife Diane; Pam Travis; Roxanna Ferguson and her husband Wade; Tamela Cunningham and her husband Jon; and Melissa Schuster. She is remembered lovingly as “Grandma” by Amanda Travis, Daniel Travis, Nathaniel Ferguson, Hannah Ferguson, Candice Cunningham, Trevor Cunningham, Casey Wright, and Michael Williams. The next generation, her great-grandchildren—Elizabeth and Noah Travis; Ryel, Griffin, Sloane, and Crosby Ferguson; Felix Jaimes; Trenton, Tristen, and Tinsley Cunningham; Weston and Wrenleigh Wright—carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.
Betty was deeply loved by her friends and extended family who will hold her in special remembrance.
She now reunites with those who passed before her: her brothers, Richard and Solomon Hunter; her beloved mother, Flora Hunter; her son, Kenneth Hargitt; her sister-in-law, Sylvia Hunter; and her niece, Connie Hunter.
Her family and friends carry her in their hearts, her love of simple joys, and her gift for making everyone feel welcome—these are the legacies Betty leaves to those who will miss her every day.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 29, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Life Church at Trinity, 239 Allred Mill Rd, Jasper, GA 30143. All who were touched by her kindness are welcome to join in honoring a life so well lived.
Betty Hunter Jenkins’ life reminds us that love is measured not in grand gestures, but in the daily acts of caring, the laughter shared, and the beauty we notice in the world. Her story is not only preserved in memory, but in every heart that had the privilege to know her.
