Besides his widow, Mr. Dean is survived by two sons: Peter Dean of Broomfield, CO and Jeffrey Dean of Jefferson, GA. He also has two grandchildren: Mason Dean of Los Angeles and Hayden Dean of Atlanta.

Burial was held at 1:15 p.m. on December 20 that day at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. Since John was always involved with various animals, in lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to any animal rescue organization.
