Paul McKenzie

Mr. Paul Jay McKenzie, 87, of Bent Tree in Jasper, passed away Friday, July 21, 2017 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.

Mr. McKenzie was born September 11, 1929 to Paul James McKenzie and Ella Bertha Dittmar McKenzie in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He is preceeded in death by his beloved wife, April Shumway McKenzie.

He is survived by his children, Dale and Paulette McKenzie, Karen and Jeff Banawitz, Jeff and Sheri McKenzie, Michael Hollaway, Todd and Susy Hollaway, Becky Hollaway and Mary Campbell, and his legged fur baby and beloved companion, Katy.

Mr. McKenzie was a retired Air Force Major. He enlisted in USAF at Ft. Knox, KY October 13, 1947 and retired in Plattsburg, NY on September 30, 1970. 

A celebration of life will be held at Georgia Veteran’s National Cemetery in Canton, Ga. on Friday, July 28th at 1:30 p.m.

Kevin Bennett

July 17, 1955 – July 21, 2017

 

Kevin Cresswell Bennett, 62, passed away July 21, 2017 in Gainesville, Florida.  He was born July 17, 1955 in Asheville, North Carolina.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Athena Bennett; son, Nicholas Bennett; sons and daughters-in-law, Zachary and Casey Bennett, Christopher and Whitney Bennett; grandson, Isaac Bennett; brothers, Dr. and Mrs. William Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Bennett, Mr. Kent Bennett, and Mr. Fred Bennett.

The funeral service for Mr. Bennett will be held 11 a.m., Friday, July 28, 2017 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Greg Meadows officiating. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home Thursday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Jack Emory

Mr. Jack Emory, 84, of Talking Rock, passed away Monday July 17, 2017 at his residence. 

Mr. Emory is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Mildred Emory of Talking Rock and Roger Emory and Linda Buchanan of Talking Rock; sister, Dorothy Townsend of Talking Rock; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. 

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2017 from the chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Revs. Tim Hyde, Harold Mull, and Paul Richards officiating. Pall Bearers that served: Michael Ferguson, Rex Anderson, Dan Dale, Jacob Edwards, Brian Chastain, Mack Price, and James Brown. Interment at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Glen Grizzle

October 26, 1962 – July 22, 2017

 

Mr. Glen Leon Grizzle,  54, of Jasper, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 in Jasper.  He was born October 26, 1962 to Donald Lawton and Jeanette Johnson Grizzle in Tate, Georgia.

He is survived by his mother, Jeanette Grizzle of Jasper; son, Daniel Grizzle of Jasper; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lawton and Dorothy Grizzle of Jasper, Tommy and Christine Grizzle of Tate, Mickey and Martha Grizzle of Jasper; sister and brother-in-law Tammy and Sammy Collins of Jasper; aunt and uncle; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.

At his request, Glen is being cremated and no services will be held.

Memorial contributions can be made in Glen’s honor to Talking Rock First Baptist Church.  (PO Box 95; Talking Rock, GA  30175)
