Betty Sue Howard

Betty Sue Howard, 77, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. She was born March 10, 1947 to Albert and Lorene Voyles Perry in Dawsonville, Georgia.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Stacy Howard of Jasper; grandchildren, Chris Clayton of Jasper, Matt Clayton of Jasper, Les Brinson of North Carolina; Hannah Bennett; great-grandchildren, Bella Brinson, Lena Brinson, Thea Brinson, Braelyn Bennett, and Braxton Bennett; good friend and prior husband, Billy Howard of Jasper.  Other relatives also survive. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lorene Perry; son, Alan Howard; daughter, Sharyne Welch; and infant daughter, Sherry Howard.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 27, 2024 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Ben Mock officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Forest Memorial Park.

The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 12 p.m. until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.

Matthew Boswell

Matthew Robert Boswell, 33, of Talking Rock, Georgia passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024 at his home. He was born October 11, 1990 in Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from Sequoyah High School and attended Georgia College and State University where he majored in Spanish. 

Matthew is survived by his mother and stepfather, Joni and Steve Altom of Talking Rock; maternal grandmother, Marion Hamilton of Jacksonville, Florida; cousins, Jeff and Angie Nobles of Georgetown, TX, Audrey Nobles of Boston, and Claire Nobles of Austin, TX. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Harrell Hamilton; his paternal grandmother, Kay Boswell; and paternal aunts Fay Nobles and Peggy Jennings.

Services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2024 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home.   

The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
