Glenda Moss

            Glenda Adele Moss, 79, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Wildwood Health Care. She was born November 5, 1942 to Marvin Preston Moss and Lola Hyde Moss in Jasper. 

            Glenda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Andrea Gartrell of Jasper; grandchildren, Eric and Megan Baker of Talking Rock, Cora Ruth Gartrell of Jasper; Rece Adele Gartrell of Jasper; great-grandchild, Easton Baker; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joe and Mary Gartrell Jones of Jasper; brother-in-law, Tim Gartrell of Jasper. She was preceded in death by Larry R. Gartrell.

            Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Greg Long officiating.

Larry Quarles

            Larry Ford Quarles, 76, of Ball Ground, Georgia passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. He was born August 28, 1945 to Jack and Evelyn Quarles.

            Larry is survived by his daughter, Anita Joan Quarles of Ball Ground; sons, Leon Quarles of Ball Ground, Danny Quarles of Ellijay; grandchildren, Brenda Ann Jordan of Ball Ground, Hunter Quarles of Ball Ground, Kayla Satterfield of Hickory Flat, Joshua Herndon of Ball Ground; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Billy Williams of Jasper; sisters, Evelyn Stewart of Talking Rock, Connie Freeman of Ball Ground, Lynn Tidwell of Talking Rock; brother, Jack Quarles of Jasper; and seven great-grandchildren.  Several other relatives also survive.  

            Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 21, 2021 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home.  Interment followed in Lake Forest Memorial Park.

            Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory. 

Imogene Stephens

February 24, 1940 -November 20, 2021

            Imogene Stephens, 81, of Talking Rock, Georgia passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021 at her home.

            She is survived by her husband, Tommy Stephens of Talking Rock, son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Sherrie Childers of Talking Rock, step-son, Gary Stephens of Calhoun, grandson, Andy Childers of Ranger, sister and brother-in-law, Denzell and Barry Bowman of Talking Rock, sister in law, Ethel Long of Talking Rock, several nieces and nephews also survive.

            No services will be held at this time.

            Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.

Ellen Caldwell

July 11, 1939 -November 16, 2021

            Ms. Ellen O. Caldwell, 82, of McDonough, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Fifth Avenue Heath Care in Rome.

            Ellen is survived by her sons, Steven Allen Oliver, and Coley Caldwell of Stockbridge; daughter, Helen Rene Oliver of Griffin; brother, William Boyd Oliver Jr. of Senoya; twin sister, Lucy Helen Oliver of Stockbridge; sister, Jean Oliver Bearden of Cartersville; three grandchildren.

            A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 19, 2021 at Cagle Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Preston Jones officiating.

            In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help with funeral expenses.

            Cagle Funeral Home is honored to serve the Caldwell family.

Bernice Pinyan

April 2, 1925 -November 16, 2021

            Mrs. Bernice Reavis Pinyan, 96, of Oxford, formerly of Nelson, passed away Tuesday November 16, 2021 at her residence.

            Bernice is survived by her grandchildren, Amanda & Gary Tant, Lisa Pinyan Poole, and Kris Pinyan; great-granddaughter, Amber Hillegeist and two other great-grandchildren; cousin, Darryl Prince; several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

            She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Pinyan; son, Grover Pinyan; daughter, Mildred Hitchcock; and half-brother, W.S. Cox.

            Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Cagle Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jimmy Andrews officiating.

            Interment followed at Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery.

            Cagle Funeral Home is honored to serve the Pinyan family.

Mary Murray

February 4, 1941 –November 10, 2021

            Mary Jane (Wise) Murray, 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 10 at North Fulton Hospital, Roswell, Georgia.

            “Jane” was born February 4, 1941, in Ancon, US Canal Zone, Panama. Jane graduated the University of Texas-El Paso in 1961 with a BS in Education, taught in elementary schools in Texas, New Jersey, and California, and served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in numerous ways throughout her life.

            She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeffrey and Jewel (Theus) Wise; brother, Jeffrey (Linda) Wise; and sister, Jeannette (Charles) Casey.

            She will be lovingly missed by her husband of 60 years, John S. (Steve) Murray.

            She also leaves daughter, Janet (Terry) Purchase; and sons, Alex (Hanna) Mauren and Brett Mauren; son, John Jeffrey (Kimberlee) Murray and sons Joshua Murray and Jontae Murray, and daughter Jill (Scott) Selvig and their children, Megan (Jonathan) Jackson and Josiah (Sarah) Selvig. Jane also leaves behind sister, Jerilyn (Michael) McGhee; brother–in–law, Charles Casey, and sister-in-law, Linda Wise along with a host of nieces and nephews.

            The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 5 until 8 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Browns Bridge Community Church in Cumming, GA, with Rev. Brad Smith and Rev. Jim Erickson officiating. Interment for family only will be on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:30 AM at the National Cemetery in Canton, GA.

            The family wishes to express its sincere thanks for the loving and caring support Jane received from staff at Celebration Village Assisted Living, The Oaks at Hampton Memory Care, and Homestead Hospice.

            In lieu of flowers, you may make contributions in her memory to Paralyzed Veterans of America, Northpoint Community Church Global(x) Missions, or the ministry of your choice.

Betty Robson

July 1, 1947 -November 21, 2021

            Betty Dean Robson, 74, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Grandview Health Center.

            She is survived by son and daughter in law, Lanny and Tina Lusk of Jasper, grandchildren, Robert and Carmen Lusk of Jasper, Samantha and Jon Webb and Michelle and Jimmy Tidwell of Fairmount, great-grandchildren, Aspen Lusk, Kristina Young and Russell Young.

            She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Dale Robson.

            Graveside services were held Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Lake Forest Memorial Park at 3 p.m. with Reverend Steve Taylor and Reverend Robert Lusk.

            Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
