Sue James

December 5, 1936 -October 17, 2021

            Ms. Sue James, 84, of Marble Hill, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 at her residence.

            Ms. James is survived by her brothers and sister-in-law: Jerry & Lynn James of Marble Hill, and Phillip James of Marble Hill; sisters and brother-in-law: Lois Ridings of Marble Hill, and Eliza & Larry Ray of Marble Hill; several nieces and nephews.

            Visitation is Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.

            Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Cagle Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Harold Bottoms and Rev. Alan Day officiating.

            Interment will be at Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery following the funeral service.

            Pallbearers: Kenny Payne, Brady Clayton, Justin Fellenbaum, Mike James, Timothy James, Brett Bozeman, Jacob Lambert, and Ethan Gibson. Honorary pallbearer: Ron Fellenbaum.

            Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Marble Hill Baptist Church.

            Cagle Funeral Home is honored to serve the James family.

Derrick Evans

            Capt. Derrick Evans, Ret. (Barrow County Fire Department), 42, passed away, Tuesday, October 12. Funeral with Firefighter Graveside Honors following at the cemetery was held Sunday, October 17, 2021. In Their Honor of Jasper Funerals and Cremations.

Philomena Osborne

            Philomena Osborne, 86, of Jasper, GA passed away October 8, 2021. No services are planned at this time. In Their Honor of Jasper Funerals and Cremations.

Stephen Richards

            Stephen Paul Richards, 39, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Atlanta V.A. Medical Center in Decatur.

            Stephen is survived by his wife, Dakota Richards of Jasper; son, Jordan Richards of Jasper; father and mother, Douglas and Brenda Richards of Ellijay; sister and brother-in-law, Cherish and Paul Twigg of Jacksonville, Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Kerri and Jon Henderson of Ellijay; brother, Daniel Richards of Ellijay; sister, Sara Richards of Jacksonville, Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Kaitlin and Darrin Canote of Rome; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Danny and Carolyn Childers of Talking Rock; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lauren and Chris Saxon of Canton. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. 

            A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:30 p.m., Sunday, October 24 2021 at Woodstock Church of Jasper with Reverend Eddie Rhodes officiating.

            The family will be receiving friends at Woodstock Church of Jasper on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Kay Graham

            Kay Graham, 88, of Jasper, GA passed away October 5, 2021. No services are planned at this time. In Their Honor of Jasper Funerals and Cremations.

Harold Henry

            Harold Lee Henry, a United States Navy Veteran, of Marietta, GA, passed away October 5, 2021. No services planned at this time. In Their Honor of Jasper Funerals and Cremations.

Andy Delille

            Andy Delille, a United States Army Veteran, 67, passed away September 20, 2021. Burial services are being planned for GA National Cemetery with military honors. In Their Honor of Jasper Funerals and Cremations.

Tom Temple

U.S. Veteran

            Tom Temple, 74, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.  

            Tom is survived by his wonderful wife of 45 years, Joyce of Big Canoe, Georgia. Their son, Will Temple from Auburn, Alabama. In addition, their daughter, Katie and her husband, Jason Keehfus from Atlanta, Georgia with their two wonderful boys,  Cameron (11) and Lincoln (10). Tom has a sister, Susan, and  her husband, Vic, from Cary, North Carolina. Tom is predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Ella Temple as well as his son, Cory Temple.

            Tom grew up in Charlotte, NC and attended UNC-Chapel Hill, followed by his service in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. Tom received the  Air Medal for Heroism while participating in aerial flight and The Bronze Star while serving his country in Vietnam. After Tom returned home he went to work with Stuart Furniture, in Asheboro, NC, which later became Klaussner Furniture for over 33 years. Tom was the first commissioned sales person at Stuart.  This is also where he met and married his wife, Joyce. They later moved to Atlanta and then to Auburn, Alabama where they raised their family and lived for over 30 years. Tom covered Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and the Florida panhandle where he made many friends in the furniture business.

            Many of you who knew him best, know he loved people, sales, golf and his family, especially his two grandchildren. Tom never met a stranger and always had a story to tell.

            He maintained a huge passion for UNC basketball and southern football.  

            The family has requested any donations made in Tom’s name to Tunnel for Towers.

Jane Leonard

            Jane Leonard, 81, of Big Canoe, GA passed away October 14, 2021. No services are planned at this time. In Their Honor of Jasper Funerals and Cremations.

Phillip Wilson

            Reverend Phillip Ryan Wilson, 30, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 in Elbert County, Georgia. He was born May 23, 1991 to Dennis Ryan Wilson and Donna Jean Wilson in Jasper, Georgia. 

            Phillip is survived by his wife, Mashay Wilson of Jasper; daughter, Makenna Wilson of Jasper; father and mother, Ryan and Donna Wilson of Jasper; brother, Mason Wilson of Jasper, sister, Taylor Heath of Jasper; brothers, Chase Heath of Jasper, Casey Heath of Jasper; grandmother, Marsha Jones of Jasper;  father-in-law and mother-in-law,  Lamar and Vickie Jones of Jasper; and nephew, Cashton Wilson.  Several other family members and friends also survive.

            Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Bethesda Baptist Church with Reverend Jimmy Chester, Reverend Rudy Tribble, Reverend Evan Howell, and Reverend Josh Hamby officiating. Interment followed in the Arbor Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

            Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.  

Nikki Garrett

            Sarra Nichole “Nikki” Garrett, 44, of Ellijay, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at her home. She was born April 12, 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia. 

            Nikki is survived by her husband, Jody Garrett of Ellijay; daughters and son-in-law, Amber and Justin Godfrey of Jasper, Jessica Garrett of Ellijay, Emma Garrett of Ellijay; parents, Timothy and Tamara Roberts; grandchild, Evan Godfrey of Jasper; grandmother, Wanda Salloum of Lapeer, Michigan; grandfather, Jim Roberts of Roswell; siblings, Jessica and Michael Guild of Blairsville, John and Annie Salloum of Augusta, South Carolina, Sam and Andi Vargas of Seattle, Washington, Megan and Jake Ledbetter of Talking Rock, Matthew and Oksana Salloum of Cumming, Ashley and Kyle Jaacks of Cumming; mother-in-law, Pam Dobson of Jasper; father-in-law, Mackey Garrett of Talking Rock; brother-in-law, Tracy Mundy of Jasper; sisters-in-law, Suzanne Garrett of Talking Rock, Torri and Justin Hensley of Ellijay; sister-in-law, P.J. and Seth Kirk of Jasper.

            The family received friends at Roper Funeral Home, Monday, October 18, 2021.

            John Yunker, 71, of Ellijay, GA passed away October 8, 2021. No services are planned at this time. In Their Honor of Jasper Funerals and Cremations.
