Nathan Jones

            Nathan Scott Jones, 35, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021 at his home. He was born October 16, 1985 to Richard Neil and Diane Jones in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

            Nathan is survived by his mother, Diane Jones of Jasper; father, Richard Jones of Jackson Tennessee; brother and sister-in-law, Jake and Jessica Jones of Talking Rock; friend, Lyndy Gravley of Canton; and daughter, Shelby Jones of Canton.   

            A memorial service will be planned at a later date.

            Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.

William Childers

July 1, 1929 -September 11, 2021

            Mr. William H. Childers, 92 of Jasper, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 at The Brian Center in Canton.

            Mr. Childers is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kennie & Janet Childers of Ball Ground; son-in-law, Hugh Bozeman of Tate; daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle & Arnold Payne of Jasper, and Charlotte Arnold & Billy Fitzgerald of Jasper; brother, J.W. Childers of Jerusalem Community; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

            Preceded in death by daughters and son-in-law, Sheila Childers Bozeman, and Sandra Childers Heath & Tommy Heath.

            Graveside services were  held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2021 at Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Richie Gibbs officiating.

            Pallbearers: Isaiah Payne, Jamie Payne, Zackary Goss, Tyler Childers, Tristian McFarland, and Kaven Pack. Honorary pallbearers: Timmy Childers and Tyler Tinsley.

            The family requests in lieu of flowers, donate to the Shriners.

Tony West

December 1, 1955 -September 11, 2021

            Mr. Tony West, 65, of Free Home Community, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

            Tony is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Terry & Ashley West of Canton, Cory & Allison West of Decatur, and Cody & Paisley Ingram of Talking Rock; daughters and sons-in-law, Tonya & Tony Kellogg of Ball Ground, Misty & Justin Burnett of Jasper, and Beverly & Jason Burnett of Free Home Community; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gail & Sam Burtz of Canton, and Rena & Haynes Weatherby of Ball Ground; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

            He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn West; father and mother, Robert & Claudine West.

            Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Corinth Baptist Church, with Rev. Richie Gibbs and Rev. Cody Ingram officiating.

            Interment will be at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery following the funeral service.

Eddie Blankenship

February 28, 1969 -September 10, 2021

            Mr. Eddie Lee Blankenship, 52, of Cartersville, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021 at Piedmont Hospital Cartersville.

            Mr. Blankenship is survived by his wife, Leigh Blankenship of Cartersville; daughter, Ashley Blankenship of Acworth; mother, Catherine Sue Blankenship; sisters and brother-n-law, Susan & Jeff McVey of Jasper, and Jennifer Blankenship of Marble Hill; granddaughter, Olivia Jett.

            He is preceded in death by his father, Eddie Lowell Blankenship.

            Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, September 13, 2021 at Cagle Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ben Mock officiating.

            Interment was at Lake Forest Memorial Park following the funeral service.

            Pallbearers: Cody Jett, Benjamin Provost, Jonathan Elischer, Jeff McVey, Trevor McVey, Nicholas Chapman, David Hulsey, and Dawson Shoemake.

            The family accepted flowers or donate to Compassion International.

Eunice Johnson

May 29, 1928 -September 9, 2021

            Mrs. Eunice Bowers Johnson, 93, of Yellow Creek Community, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021 at her residence.

            Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Willene & Abray Bell of Ball Ground, and Sheila Jarrett of Yellow Creek; step-daughters, Pamela Bodeck of Jasper, and Wanda Johnson of Marietta; brother and sister-in-law, James & Mattie Whitsell of Dawsonville; sisters, Shirley Frix of Dawsonville, Amma Dale Whitsell of Jasper, Martha Sue Whitsell of Jasper, and Betty Faye Ellis of Yellow Creek; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

            She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Noah Kirby and Bessie Mae Kirby Whitsell; son, Emory Bowers; husbands, S.J. Bowers and Jack Johnson; step-daughter, Joyce Jarrard.

            Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, with Rev. Chris White, Rev. Gary Cowen, and Rev. Rodney Pilcher officiating.

            Interment followed at the Mt. Vernon Church Cemetery following the funeral service.

            Pallbearers: Billy Jarrett, Brandon Jarrett, Wesley Budde, William Bell, Barry Krackenberger, and Jeff Johnson. Honorary pallbearer: Eddie Guy.

Jake Robinson

December 2, 1936 -September 8, 2021

            Mr. Jason “Jake” Robinson, 84, of Jasper, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at his residence.

            Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife, Glyndon Robinson of Jasper; sons and daughter-in-law, Chuck Robinson of Hinton, and Curtis & Coral Robinson of Jasper; sister and brother-in-law, Gladys & Grady Cagle of Hinton; brother-in-law, Ricky Long; sister-in-law, Doris Clark; several nieces and nephews.

            He is preceded in death by his parents, Lynwood & Hettie Robinson.

            Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Cagle Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Terry Buress officiating.

            Interment followed at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

            Pallbearers: Timothy Hensley, Ronnie Mills, Roger Robinson, Joel Fields, Brad Medlin, and Clay Holt. Honorary pallbearers: John Chastain and Bill Horton.

            Mr. Ronnie Parker, 73, of Ellijay, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Piedmont Mountainside Ellijay Hospital.

            Mr. Parker is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne & Sarah Brown of Ellijay; daughters, Deanna Bagwell of Ellijay and Sherry Parker of Lagrange; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

            A celebration of life was held at Cartecay Vineyards, 5704 Clear Creek Rd. Ellijay,  on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 6 p.m.

            Mrs. Linda Lee “Lyn” Colombarini, 69, of Jasper, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021 at her residence.

            Mrs. Colombarini is survived by her husband, Ralph Colombarini Jr. of Jasper; son, Ralph Colombarini III; daughters and sons-in-law, Reene & Ryan Byrnes of Missouri, and Nicole & Joe Massa of Warrenville, IL; sister, Cathy Sibson of Texas; grandchild Nicholes Massa.

            The family will have a service and interment at a later date in North Lauderdale, FL.
