Leslie Brooke Evans, 31, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022 in Dawson County. She was born September 7, 1990 in Marietta, Georgia.
Leslie is survived by her parents, Lee and Millie Evans of Jasper, Theresa Boatright of Florida; son, Zayne Carter of Ellijay; daughter, Alexis Riley King of Waleska; grandmother, Carolyn Shaw of Canton; sister, Heather Lynn Evans of Tate; brother and sister-in-law, Cody James and Ashley Evans of Jasper; sister and brother-in-law, Alisha and Chris Pearson of Canton; brother and sister-in-law, David and Carley Cagle of Jasper; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Frankie Wilson of Ranger; brother Dalton Evans of Jasper; brother, Weston Anthony Evans of Jasper. Several nieces, nephews and other family members also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2022 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Terry Burgess officiating. Interment followed at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were David Cagle, Cody Evans, Dalton Evans, Frankie Wilson, Chaz King, and Austin Carter.

Kalah Gill, 31, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022 in Boca Raton. Kalah was a miracle baby born on January 6, 1991 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to loving parents Shawn and Mia Gill. She was a loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, and aunt to her nephews and niece who always came first in her life. Kalah touched so many lives along the way and was passionate about helping and supporting others.
Kalah was a 2009 Pickens High School Honors Graduate and a 2014 Reinhardt University Magna Cum Laude Graduate with a Bachelor of Biology Sciences and a minor in pre-medicine. At the time of her passing she was enrolled at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL working on her Master’s Degree. She loved to study and read.
Kalah’s laughter and smile always made Kalah the life of the party. Kalah was very creative from an early age, and she was carefree and spontaneous. She was known by her friends to have random dance parties and jam sessions in her car. Kalah had an early passion for fashion, and she also loved traveling, seeing new places, making new friends, and hiking. She especially loved her dogs and being near the ocean.
Kalah is survived by her parents, Shawn and Mia Gill of Jasper, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Salina and Edward Ashworth of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Jasen and Alexis Gill of Blue Ridge; sister, Cassidy Gill of Jasper; grandmother, Delores Ramos of Jasper; nephews, Jayden Gill, Liam Love; niece, Lila Gill; many cousins, several aunts and uncles and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, SGT. Charles W. “Trey” Huff III.
Kalah’s light shined so bright on her family and friends, and it will be missed every day. Kalah’s light lives on, and as a believer in Jesus, her spirit is now at rest in the ocean of God’s love.

Michael Lee Dobbs, age 64 of Jasper, Georgia passed away peacefully Thursday, September 1st at his home. He was born on September 14th, 1957 to Hugh Lee Dobbs and Ollie Faye Dobbs in Marietta, Georgia. He is survived by his wife, Debra Dobbs; daughter and daughter-in-law, Melissa and Brooke Wallace; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Isaiah Pike; grandchildren, Nathan Wallace, Sophie Wallace, Marcus Pike, and Easton Pike of Jasper, Georgia; mother, Ollie Faye Dobbs of Canton; sister and brother-in-law, Janice Faye and Ferrell Sparks; brother, Richard Dobbs of Woodstock, Georgia. He is preceded in death by father, Hugh Lee Dobbs.
Mike and Debra were high school sweethearts. They were married for 48 years. Mike had a larger than life personality. To know him was to love him. He was always the one to keep everyone laughing. He was the heartbeat of his family, the laughter of his friends, and the love of all our lives. He was an amazing husband, incredible father and grandfather. His biggest fans and his favorite people called him Papa. Although he is gone, he will live on through the ones who loved him most, with his stories, words of wisdom, and most of all his humor. Shirley Aaron, 81, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022 at her home. She was a member of Sharp Top Baptist Church for many years.

James W. “Taz” Ingram, 65, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. He was born July 30, 1957 to Earman and Betty Ingram in Gordon County.
James is survived by his wife, Charlotte Ingram of Jasper; special children, Nevaeh Carver of Jasper, Kyle Carver of Jasper; siblings, Junior Ingram, Joan Bradley, Dean Ingram, Ricky Ingram, and Tony Ingram. He was preceded in death by his parents, Erman and Betty Ingram and brother, David Ingram.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, September 4, 2022 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Travis Davis and Reverend Trammel Rhodes officiating. Mrs. Harper is survived by her husband, Ralph Harper of Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Robert & Courtney Davis of Jasper; stepdaughter, Kelly Roland of Jasper; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda & Greg Mullins of Jasper; sister-in-law, Patsy Kunkel of Alaska; brothers-in-law, Franklin Harper of Jasper, and Rick Harper of Jasper; grandchildren, Riley Davis, Reese Davis, Marley Roland, and Baby Layne.

Ms. Peggy Ann Townsend, 72 of Ellijay, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022 at Pruitt Health Care.
Ms. Townsend is survived by her daughters, Amy Griffin of Canton, and Lori Marshall of Jasper; brother, James Bishop of Marietta; sister, Betty Chumley of Acworth; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 10, 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Cagle Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment of cremains will be at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Acworth at a later date.

Tater Patch Players beloved Robert Countryman passed away earlier this year. We all miss him and we know many in the community do as well. A memorial service for Bob Countryman will be held on Friday, September 16 at 1 p.m. at the Jasper United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at Tater Patch Players, 95 Philadelphia Lane in Jasper, beginning at 2 p.m. There will be refreshments and we will all have time to share our favorite memories of Bob.
