The Sassafras Literary Exchange is now accepting entries for its annual Adult Writing Con-test, open to local writers age 18 and older.
Writers may submit original work in three categories: fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Fiction and nonfiction entries are limited to 1,500 words, and poetry submissions may not exceed 50 lines. Deadline to enter is March 31.
Cash prizes will be awarded in each category, with $100 for first place, $75 for second, and $50 for third, along with certificates of recognition. First place receives a marble plaque. All entrants will be entered into a gift card drawing.
The contest encourages both new and experienced writers to participate. Full rules, dead-lines, and submission details are available at sassafrasliterary.org/contest.
