Show opens Nov. 28
By Nan Nawrocki, Tater Patch Players
Just as stores are beginning to surround us with Christmas decorations, Tater Patch Players is once again bringing you a holiday show full of happiness. A Little Christmas Spirit by Pat Cook is being rehearsed at Tater Patch Players theater at 95 Philadelphia Lane in Jasper.
The director is a good friend of Tater Patch, Craig Spirko, who has done numerous plays at Blue Ridge Community Theater. He has assembled a wonderful cast of both new and familiar faces to bring you an enchanting story full of Christmas magic.
The play takes place in a dilapidated store when a man enters. He hopes to find his grandson a very popular toy. All the “big” stores he’s visited tell him it’s sold out, so he visits Nick’s Emporium as his last hope.
That’s when the magic begins. Beyond that hint, I can’t tell you any more of this story. You will have to come see for yourself. This show is fine for all ages. Bring all your Thanksgiving house guests, too.
The performance dates are November 28, 29, 30 and December 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16. The Sunday shows are 2 p.m. matinees and the others are at 7:30 p.m.
Some of the more familiar faces you’ll see are Gary Collier, Nick Hull, September Hoeler, Beth Leonard, Crystal O’Kelley, and Carrie Cochems. Young Raelyn McDaniel will be familiar to those who saw this year’s Charlotte’s Web.
Just as exciting is the group of new actors that Craig and his Assistant Director, Betsy Robbe, have cast. Joell Wilson, Sarah Marcinko, Keely Chalk and Jonathan Wilson have all joined in to make this show a delight for our audiences.
Tickets may be purchased online at taterpatchplayers.org anytime or at the box office one hour before showtimes. Our holiday show seats tend to fill up quickly, so buy online if you can. If you have any questions, email us at taterpatchplayers@gmail.com.
