Tater Patch’s Charlotte’s Web brings youthful punch, opens next week

Submitted by The Tater Patch Players

Tater Patch Players is enjoying doing a play with a large group of young folks in it. There are some experienced young actors and some new ones.

The same goes for the adults in the play… some familiar faces and some first-timers. If you have kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, neighbor kids or you’re a kid at heart, please come see Charlotte’s Web by Joseph Robinette, which will run for two weekends only, at the Tater Patch Players theater.

Show Information

The show dates are July 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27.  The Sunday shows are at 2 p.m. and the others are at 7:30 p.m. The theater is at 95 Philadelphia Lane in Jasper and tickets can be bought at the door on show dates or online at taterpatchplayers.org.

For those who are financially unable to buy tickets, we invite you to our dress rehearsal which starts promptly at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 17.

We ask that you share with others in our community by bringing a sack or two of nonperishable food or toiletry items that Tater Patch will take to CARES. And we’ll share our show with you, with all the laughs and smiles you could want.

Director Phyllis Zerkle and Assistant Director Amelia Zerkle have worked patiently and taught stage movement and voice to lots of these new actors.

They’ve shared many smiles and laughs with them too, and the kids (and adults) gets lots of much-deserved praise for the hard work they’ve put in.

Upcoming

opportunities

If you’d like give acting or directing a try, get in touch with Nan Nawrocki at rockimail@gmail.com.  She’s guiding new directors to cast and direct some hilarious short comedies that open September 26.

These skits and short plays are all bundled into a show called Lickety Split: Men and Women in Outrageous Shorts, by Jones Hope Wooten. This one is not for the kids, but older teens and adults are welcome to discuss directing or to audition for a part.

This is a great way for a would-be actor to get his or her feet wet.  It will be fun for the experienced actor too. Auditions announced ,probably mid-August, and the show opens September 26 for three weekends.  After that, we’re gearing up for our Christmas show…. So, keep checking the Pickens Progress, Tater Patch’s Facebook page and www.taterpatchplayers.org for up-to-date information.
