Jasper Police are investigating burglaries at three separate locations that occurred after business hours between Wednesday, March 1 and Thursday, March 2.
Nails & Spa 4 U and Mellow Mist vape shop, both located in the retail strip on Mountainside Village Parkway off Highway 515 next to Rocco’s Pub, and Dunn’s North convenience store off Highway 515, were all broken into in a similar manner. Sgt. Matt Dawkins with Jasper Police said the doors were popped open with a crow bar, but no glass was broken. None of the businesses were open at the time of the break-ins.
According to Sgt. Dawkins, beer and cigarettes were stolen from Dunn’s North, and an undisclosed amount of cash from the nail salon. Nothing was stolen from the vape store.
“Because of the way these were done, all using a similar method, we are led to believe they were done by the same group,” Dawkins said. “We’re not ruling anything out, but because of what they took it does not fall into the pattern of other burglaries that have happened in the area.”
The three burglaries come just a day after two different convenience store burglaries in Pickens County, one at Main Stop Market on N. Main Street and one at Faz Corner in Marble Hill.
If anyone has any information regarding any of the break-ins please contact the Jasper Police Department at 706-692-9110 and ask for Sgt. Matt Dawkins.
