Such a perfect fall morning for our Farmers Market. The cooler morning made for smiling faces. Customers were busy checking out all the great items offered. Potatoes, white and sweet were available. Zach Henson sold his last pretty crossed squash; a mix between Delicata and Spaghetti squash. Tony Pisconeri offered that they were either called Delighetti or Spicata which brought smiles to those nearby. Meanwhile, as per usual, Chef Tony sold out of his delicious sourdough breads. The best being a Cranberry Pecan loaf! (At least this week, it was the favorite for some.) Stop by next week and find your favorite loaf, or Pizzetta, or biscotti, or…?
Many times there are other events being held at Lee Newton Park like the tractor show or fundraisers like the one for Burnt Mountain Center that was underway last week. So, coming to our Market may be an opportunity to participate in other local events. The Market is sponsored by the Master Gardeners of Pickens County.
This Saturday, new hours for the Farmers Market. It will start at 9 a.m. and go until 1 p.m. That means a little extra rest for the vendors. Hopefully, a little less cool for the start. With the arrival of autumn, we look forward to many things like cozy blankets, candles, and cooking. You will find the cozy and the delicious at the market, so be sure and come and see what great choices are waiting for you. The Jasper Farmers Market is located at Lee Newton Park in the Park N Ride parking lot across from the Veteran’s Memorial.
